"Four-star junior cornerback Jordan Miner of Wiregrass Ranch High School in Wesley Chapel, Fla., told GoVols247 on Wednesday morning that he's planning to visit Tennessee on Friday.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Miner received a scholarship offer from the Vols less than a month ago. He holds offers from more than a dozen other schools, including Florida, Kentucky, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, Maryland and N.C. State.

He's ranked by 247Sports as the nation's No. 310 overall prospect and No. 28 cornerback in the 2018 class.

All six predictions on the 247Sports Crystal Ball point to Florida as the favorite to land him."

Few secondaries in central Florida, if any, are as blessed with talent as the one at Wesley Chapel, Fla./Wiregrass Ranch.

Four-star cornerback Jordan Miner, three-star cornerback Shamaur McDowell and 2019 safety Raymond Woodie III have a combined 25 offers.

Look for that number to triple by this summer.

Miner, the nation’s No. 28 cornerback, holds 15 verbal offers. He said he’s still hoping for offers from Clemson, LSU and Florida State.

Miner (6-1, 185) will visit Tennessee and N.C. State this weekend. He said he’s ‘most comfortable’ with Florida.

He said he’s also big on Oregon, where he plans to officially visit this fall, and Penn State.

Miner, who had three interceptions as a junior, said he doesn’t plan to make his college choice until after his senior season.

Junior Day this weekend...

At 6-1, 180 pounds, Miner is what teams are looking for in a cornerback and finding cornerbacks is always a priority. Miner is from Welsey Chapel, Florida and is being recruited by Vol offensive coordinator Larry Scott. Miner has offers from most everyone from the south. Tennessee has made Florida a priority. In the class of 2017, the Vols signed seven players from the sunshine state. The Vols continue to swing big in that state and getting Miner on campus is a great start.

Miner played quarterback only leading up to his sophomore year. Now, the 6-1, 180 pound four star cornerback is confident and is reaping the rewards of that move. “I had to get used to it at first,” Miner said. “I wasn't sure at first. The first game of my sophomore year I got a pick and had a lot of tackles that game gave me confidence.”

It might have given him confidence, but it didn't give him expectations of the rash of offers he has recently seen. “My sophomore year, I saw everyone else blowing up,” Miner said. “So I wasn't sure if I would get any attention from anyone then when I got my first one they all started rolling in. I didn't expect it to happen like that.”

“The school was amazing,” Miner said. “The facilities are amazing. I really like the coaches a lot. Coach Gillespie is recruiting me, but I have also been talking to coach Warren and coach Jones.” “I wasn't really sure what to expect. The coaches said the atmosphere was crazy there. Stadium was huge. It was way bigger than I expected.”

“I just want to find a school where I feel like I'm at home,” Miner said. “Education is important I want to major in sports marketing so I want to find a school that has a good program and I'm looking for a football program that's going to make me a better player.”

Can confirm he's expected to be on campus shortly. Miner visited UF over the weekend.
Gators, Auburn, Vols all in top group here. Penn State a possible factor, too.

According to VQ mods Miner might be back for OCD and if so that's three visits this spring. Vols might land this one.
