Because Georgia is now a co-leader with us...looks like Chaney is telling him he's a better fit in his offense than ours, and based on his comments, he's buying it.

Reading too much into it. He has always said that even back before this past season. Chaney has nothing to do with that line of thinking.

Bray put up all of his stats against the weakest competition on the schedule and always played like garbage against the big boys. He threw awful picks, fumbled the ball in big situations, and pouted when he was sitting in the SEC basement each year. It frustrates me to always see people tout Chaney and Bray's offenses like they were so awesome when they never put up any real stats in moments that mattered. He never won a meaningful game in his career. But yeah, he did beat the hell out of Buffalo and Georgia St.

Chaney's accolades go back to the Drew Bree's days at Purdue and include Kyle Orton too. He's got enough on his resume.

I acknowledged that he coached Brees(albeit out of an Air Raid offense), and I admittedly forgot about Orton. I just think there's a little bit of revisionist history going on here. I guess I'm a little puzzled why VN suddenly become scared of an OC who we would riot if Butch hired. That being said, I don't wish to derail this thread.:hi:.

Maybe he perused this board and found out that "he doesn't fit this offense"? :dunno:

I'm one of the biggest critics of Bray you'll find. His development issues were mainly because he didn't have to respect his coach and his mental makeup. But the numbers don't lie, and that's what Chaney will point to.

Allen at Ark did better with Enos as OC and inexperienced WRs than he did with Chaney and experienced WRs

It's worth noting that Allen came into 2015 with much more experience than when Chaney had him too though. Experience can count for a lot. Sometimes it takes 3-4 years and a couple dozen games for things to really slow down for a player.

Forgot about the Chaney factor here. =\

Hopefully Kirbs wants to ground and pound. Otherwise Trevor would be wise to pick Chaney if he wants to chuck it 50x

They're shaken.

You know them better than anyone Steeler. What do you think the deal is with Mack. Its hard for me to imagine why he would be involved in some thing this bad.He is young, successful. Should have his pick from several females.

They're shaken.

We kidded around with you previously about that relationship. Always seemed like a good strong family and that opinion hasn't changed for me. Hoping for the best outcome and tell them that real Vol fans will always pull for them.

Not really scared of him at all, but I will acknowledge he's a real good OC that is a natural fit for a pro-style QB. I was excited to have him as our OC and I still think he did a good job here. Scoring wasn't our problem. Having said that, the air raid style offense leads to shootouts more often than not and places a huge stress on the defense. Also, it's not much for the run game.

Great family, every one. I've got 2 beautiful, teenage daughters. A freshman and a sophomore... and there isn't a Crowder that isn't welcome to stay at our place any time. No hesitation whatsoever.

Well said. Praying he recovers from this.

From 247...

“I would like to have it done before my junior season starts,” said Lawrence, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect in the 2018 class by 247Sports. “But I’m not going to rush it if I don’t.”

The 6-foot-5, 191-pound Lawrence already has received offers from at least 22 schools, and new teams still are entering the picture, with Alabama and Florida State both having extended offers to him within the past 10 days.

A few programs, though, already have caught his attention and have stayed in contact with him more frequently than others.

“Georgia and Tennessee are recruiting me the hardest still,” Lawrence said. “Clemson, I talked to them the other day, and they’re still recruiting me hard.”

Lawrence was born in Johnson City, Tenn., and grew up following Tennessee, and he said he has continued to hear plenty from the Vols, led by offensive coordinator Mike DeBord. Lawrence said he talks with Tennessee’s staff “probably once a week,” and he has developed a “pretty good” relationship with DeBord.

“We got to know each other pretty well over the past summer,” Lawrence said. “I like him, too.”

He most recently visited Georgia last weekend.

“I really enjoyed it, especially the coaching staff. It’s one of the best ones I’ve been around and talked to,” Lawrence said. “And I’ll definitely be back soon — maybe again this spring. If not, beginning of summer, I’ll be back.”

Even if Lawrence decides on a college sometime this year, he plans to take at least a few more visits before ending his recruitment.

While he doesn’t have any trips planned at the moment, he said he’s planning to visit Florida — and perhaps return to Tennessee and Georgia — during his spring break in early April.

Do not like the sound of this.
