The Latest: Three-star safety Aaron Brule was part of the group of Louisiana prospects to commit to Kansas last month in a move that surprised many in the college football recruiting world. And while he remains high on the Jayhawks and committed, he’s still taking his time to look at other options, chief among them, Tennessee. Rivals.com caught up with Brule over the weekend at the Rivals 3-Stripe Camp presented by adidas in New Orleans to get the latest on his recruitment.

In His Words: “It’s been real stressful. Every day I just pray on it and hopefully I can make the right decision for myself. But I’m still pretty solid to Kansas with my guys Devonta Jason, Corione Harris and the others.”

On the Vols: “ I talk to Coach Butch Jones from Tennessee almost every day. Coach Gillespie as well. They just try to be as honest as possible. They tells me they aren’t trying to sell me on anything, they just want to be serious and honest about how I would be a good fit there. They see me as a hybrid-type linebacker/safety. The ‘Money Linebacker’ they call it. Just covering and being in the box to make tackles. They have had guys my size before and they’ve done well so I could see myself playing in that scheme. I know I will be getting back up to campus for sure, but I’m not sure when. I know I will be going back a couple more times during the offseason.”

Rivals Reaction: Kansas fans know they are in for a fight to keep the Louisiana prospects committed so it’s not a surprise that Brule continues to explore his options. It will be interesting to see if he does indeed take multiple trips to Knoxville this offseason, especially after the success the Vols had in the state in 2017. Programs like Mississippi State are also hard after Brule.

Brule was in Knoxville for Junior Day in February.

They gave him a git shirt so he’s putting feelers out everywhere, it seems.

Definitely going to be a bigger team in the next few years...By year three, Pruitt should have a very talented, deep, large and experienced team built for the future.

Is Brule one to watch for UT?

Yea, I think Tennessee can and will be involved there to some degree. They need corners more than safeties and that is where their priority is in the defensive backfield.

This guy, Williams, and C'Bo plus Griffin and maybe even Taylor-Stuart would be a heck of a CB haul.
