what is crazier is seeing on his 24/7 page that the razorbacks have 8 TEs on their roster!

Evaluation

Alaimo emerged as a strong prospect late during his junior season because of his ability to get off of the line of scrimmage and to find space in a route. He catches the ball away from his body and with his hands, and he turns up the field quickly. He is physical once he has the ball in his hands. He is best used on the line of scrimmage in short possession-type routes. As a blocker, Alaimo fires off the line quickly and he is low. He explodes into the defensive player he is quick with his hands. He has a strong initial punch. -- Brian Dohn

Strengths

  • Body Control
  • Catching in Traffic
  • Courage
  • Hands and Concentration
  • Quickness off Line
  • Size
  • Toughness
Areas to Improve

  • Blocking Ability
  • Downfield Threat
  • Elusiveness with Catch

I don't think I have ever seen "courage" listed as an attribute before.

Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph’s three-star tight end Matt Alaimo boasts an offer list of more than 20 schools, and is closing in on making his college selection. “I think I am going to commit in June, so it’s really close,” Alaimo said.

Asked which schools he is focused in on with his decision closing in, Alaimo listed Tennessee, N.C. State, Louisville, Vanderbilt, Syracuse and Rutgers. He has already visited N.C. State, Syracuse and Rutgers, but has yet to visit the other three.

“I am probably going to visit Tennessee and N.C. State again after baseball season,” Alaimo said. “I want to see if (Tennessee’s) coaches are really great and if it has great facilities. (N.C. State’s) facilities are phenomenal and their coaches are really great.”

Alaimo previously visited Syracuse for a junior day. With Rutgers being the in-state school, they are the school he can visit most easily.

“It’s a positive because my family is close and they could come watch me play,” Alaimo said of Rutgers. “Everything is really nice there and I know a lot of people there.”

I wonder if he's a take. Our TE board is rather large and all the guys on it have about the same rating and similar type offers. That is one position where we've really recruited / evaluated poorly at since Ethan Wolf signed 4 years ago.
