This looks like terrible football.... Extremely awful football at that.

That being said the kid looks pretty good. Very quick and drives through when he is being blocked. I like it.

Jones has been producing a lot of talent the last few years, current TE James Brown’s school.

I’ve been keeping up with this guy a lot, and I just wondered when we was going to pull him a scholarship? I’ve been watching Clemson being high on him, and they have recruited this guy hard. His ranking is a little deceiving to me, I’ve always thought he should be a four or even closer to a five star.

DE or OLB??

Gonna have to check out his film...

DE all the way... 6'4" 275-285 is the gold standard for a DE in a 3-4. And the third most important component is reach 33" being the target... Also whenever you hear about Coach Pruitt wanting guys to camp... It is because he won't offer a guy a scholarship without an in person interview because he has to check their hips, ankles, and knees to see flexibility. Heck, Alabama doesn't take a 40 unless it is at their camp or laser timed.
They will probably check their joints to try and predict how much weight they can put on and withstand in in SEC play... They have a that checks knees specifically for this.

Maybe 10 years ago it was the gold standard.

But look at Bama in 2016.
Ashawn Robinson was 6'4 310 playing End.

Marcel Dareus was 6'4 300 playing end.

It's crazy how...players just getting bigger and bigger.

250 lbs just 20 years ago was good size DE.

John Randle at 6'3 285 was DT.

So this is true, to a certain degree. A young man I coached was a very good running back in the state of GA, had offers from everyone. Bama told him, “We’ll offer you when you weigh 205 on our scale”

As soon as he hit 210, he went down to tuscaloosa and came back with an offer. Then he committed to a different school. Lol

That's not true really. Go look at their roster the last couple years. They have nt around 300 another dt/end around 300 and a true end around 280. Then they have the jack around 260 and it's basically a 4 man front half the time.
