three-star junior defensive end ahmad craig of buford (ga.) high school posted saturday night on his twitter account that he received a scholarship offer from tennessee.

The 6-foot-6, 235-pound craig learned of the offer saturday during his visit with the vols for their first junior day of the year.

"blessed to receive an offer from tennessee #rockytop #govols," he tweeted.

Craig holds offers from more than 15 schools, including auburn, nebraska, arkansas, virginia tech, kentucky, louisville, georgia tech, maryland, n.c. State, vanderbilt, virginia and wake forest.

Definitely looks like he has room to grow. Interesting prospect. Lowly rated, but we've offered and so have some others, like Arkansas, Auburn, and Virginia Tech.

“it’s always exciting when you get offers and everything,” said craig. “but growing up down here, knowing the rich history of tennessee and everything and what a dominant sec force they’ve always been, you get a little more excited for schools like that.”

“i grew up watching schools like that and watching people come through tennessee and make it to the league and all that, so it was really exciting to see them have interest in me enough to offer me,” said craig.

Craig said he learned of the offer during a conversation with new tennessee head coach jeremy pruitt. “i had a meeting with him and my parents, and he told us while we were talking,” craig said. “he told me he liked my high motor and everything and how i play bigger than i am right now, and he said he’s excited to see what i look like with a little more weight on.”

“it is a top sec school, so you kind of always expect the best from schools like that. And they gave the best. They had great facilities, great people there, great coaching staff. “their indoor facility is really nice. I think it’s a little better than i expected it to be.”
