Pearl can thank his lucky stars that this is not 1967: We win the SEC in both football and basketball (the good). However, the football team loses to Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl, costing us the NC (the bad). The basketball team loses in the first round of the NCAA to eventual NC runnerup Dayton. Then we lose the NCAA tourney consolation game to Indiania!! (the ugly):banghead2:

P.S. Does anyone know if this is the only time we ever played the Hoosiers?

I know Indiana beat Tennessee in the '79 Cabrillo Classic and the '85 NIT semis.

Didn't Tennessee also lose to Indiana in a short-lived (maybe for one year) some post-season tournament in the early seventies? Seems like it was called CCA or something. Anyway, I remember Tennessee losing to Indiana by a field goal, or something.

That is correct. Excellent memory. I think it wa called the Conference Commissioners' Cup or something of that ilk. I think that was in '74.
