We were damn lucky to win that game. We had 6 turnovers and still found a way to win. The bigger story was auburn not being able to capitalize enough off our turnovers. They could have easily won that game by 3-4 tds. You got to hand to our defense though-they kept it from getting out of hand. Great teams find ways to win.

Takeo spikes trying to catch Marcus Nash down the sideline to no avail is a memory forever etched into my mind. What a nerve racking game UT was clearly the better team yet were playing against themselves and aubbie in that one

Great coached teams.

Watching and wishing..... and believing!!!!! That one day we're going to have a team that will have the Peerless/Jamal/Peyton/Al/ type players under the leadership of Coach (fill in the blank) and we'll rise within the SEC to be a force to reckon with as we march back into BCS contention. No disrespect to our current roster of young men.

Watched it other night and again right now and the thing that I remember most about that era (and most of last half of Fulmers tenure) was when he would complain about something "we deserve a New Years Day Bowl" or after the 98 Notre Dame game "we deserve to be number one" he always lost! Hence the Nebraska and Arkansas game. Any one else watching and notice how physiucally different the players are and how they walk and carry themselves then compared to now?

Al often told us that they had a strong discipline that they went by. If you notice, Al was always on the sideline pushing the Defense and Offense. And yes, physically, they were different. And if you look at the '98 championship team, you saw a strong commitment to team!!!! You'd see the players on the sideline yelling and encouraging their guys... they pushed each other. Sorry, I talk about Al so much, but when you have a young man like him that you've seen grow up from birth to UT -- Broncos-- and beyond, it makes you proud. In other word, he said they had a strong team/work ethic.... They played to win!!!!

Amazing how bad we look and still find a way to win as opposed to recently when we look pretty good at times and still find a way to lose.

I was at this game and I was 9 yrs. old. The atmosphere was unbelievable. I went to every home game that year before my grandfather past away. I now have his season tickets and I have never seen another team like the 97 team. They were extremely physical and talked a lot of trash and they backed it up. We need players like Al, Little, Peyton, etc. I hope out next HC and staff can bring this back.

I watched this replay the other night. I had never seen the tv broadcast as I was there. It amazed me what a schill Jackson was for Charles Woodson. Made me sick.

Also, its been a long time since I can remember one guy carrying a team like Craig did Auburn that year. They were absolutely nothing with him. Much respect to that guy.

You mean the '99 ND game? All they had to do was win out.

Yeah, meant 99 season. The one memory that has always stuck with me was when OL jumped offsides and he "spanked" him! I'd hate to have been that guy.
