One of these teams was coming out 3-0. I feel that most realistic Vols fans knew it would be OU, the #4 ranked team in the country.

I have given myself a few replays and a few days without alcohol to really evaluate the performance of our UT Vols.

My number one takeaway from this game was our defense is super talented. I mean, look at the experience we have from the front to the DBs and tell me we did not play better than expected. Cam Sutton. He is a freaking beast. That hit he had in the 4th Quater will be talked about for years.

My second biggest "Whoa" realization was how good of a quarterback Worley truly is. This guy took a beating. I'm talking about an ex-girlfriend's dog taking a poop on your couch beating and standing back up play after play. How he managed to keep us that deep in the game is beyond me. I have read so many posts about his red zone throws, but I'm surprised they were that close since he probably had double/triple vision during them. He'd be more likely to get arrested for a DUI than make a pass given the hits he was taking.

Third. Give this O-Line all the poop that you want to, but they stood up to a way more experience and over-sized, by an average of 50 pounds, defensive line than they will see all year. They put up a fight for four quarters. I did not see that at all last year.

Fourth. Watching our conference games. I did not see another team that would give us as hard of a fight as OU did on their home field.

The future is bright for true Tennessee fans.

The key to us going bowling is the offensive line.
Simple as that.
They suck it up and come together, 7 wins is a gimmie.

I would like to see some big special teams plays as well. Kickoff return and punting have been subpar this season.

The game could have turned out totally different had 2 things happened....

1) The Big-12 replay ref grew some ba..s and called it correctly.

2) Croom (playing like Jane instead of Tarzan) actually fights for the ball in the end-zone over a much smaller DB and hauls in a TD

If that happens, at point #2, its 20-17 OU heading into the 4th quarter. We start to believe, they start to doubt and that more often than not spells upset.

You can't do this 1 or 2 plays against Oregon last year or some other blowouts, but you certainly can in this game against the #4 ranked team on their home field.

That's significant progress gentlemen.

Would've loved to have some of you superstars out there so you could've made that catch and we might've won.

that ball was perfect. great throw by worley. that catch has to be made. plays like that are like errors in baseball. if you give the other team extra out, you give up runs.

if you dont catch TDs, you lose games.

I'm hoping Croom uses that miss as a motivator to come back with a vengeance. we'll see what he's made of when he comes out against UGA :clapping: lets go big boy

exactly. It is hard to comprehend how talented and the level of football IQ that is on Volnation. it is a known fact that our biggest improvements between games comes from coaches taking advice off of volnation.

...I am going to make sure that everyone knows the post above is sarcasm. I have seen several remarks made that people just miss it.

For one, it wasn't a perfect throw. Anytime your receiver doesn't catch it in stride without anyone trying to block it, it's not "perfect". Two, it was an amazing defensive play. Not every receiver is going to make North-esque catches every play. Give the kid a break. He's actually out there working his ass off to get better. He's not a grown man in here attacking a teenager. (Not saying you're attacking him, but some people that agree with you have been.)

Disagree it was a perfect pass. Lofted up so he could get it high in the end zone. Went right through his hands. The DB did not make a great play, if fell right in his hands. He was standing flat footed.

How is anybody gonna catch a ball in stride when is was a jump ball in the back corner of the endzone? You expect you 6'5 reciever to beat a 5'11 db on that play all day long!
