1. Why are they still called stock cars?
2. Jimmie Johnson has two wins, yet is not the pts leader. Why is winning not rewarded properly?

If JJ hadn't of ran out of talent and wrecked out at Daytona, he'd be ahead by a mile right now.

Winning isnt minimized. They are offering more points come chase time for people with more wins. But, you also have to be consistent. I mean. Say a driver has 6 wins, but 30 finishes 30th position or lower. See what I mean

That is an extreme case... but to me, if a guy wins 8 times and crashes/DNF 8 times, it shows he is at least making an effort to win and not just stat padding...

I doubt there is a points system in any racing series where a guy could win half the races and not finish the other half and still manage to win the championship.

If they went to giving more wins more points. Then if you had a driver get say 6 wins like Kasey Kahne last year and consistent alot of other races and come end of the year. If he were to have a huge lead. Then hey, take off a week or 2. That is what it would come to if you gave wins to many more points

1) I dont know why they are still called stock cars, but when Nascar was formed they were stock cars
2) The points system is ok the way it is. consistency is key, although a few more points for winning would be fine with me

1. Because calling them "The farthest thing from stock" would be too much to say.

2. Winners are rewarded properly, they get to spin out in the infield and get to hug the big bossomed trophy girl in the winner's circle.

A driver can win one race and be the points Champion, but consistency in the top 5 really makes the difference.:eek:k:
Kasey Kahne won 6 races last year, but some bad finishes and some DNF's really hurt.:banghead2:
