Maymon quits Marquette basketball program; Blue to stick with Golden Eagles

In May of 2008, Maymon selected Marquette over USC, but he also considered Baylor, Kansas and Tennessee. Early rumors indicate Tennessee could be a potential new home for Maymon.

Marquette, Kansas, USC, Baylor. Never seen the kid play or anything, but he's got some pretty solid offers. If he wanted to come, I wouldn't mind.

Would he still be able to use his redshirt for this year, or did he play too much?

i haven't watched tennessee much lately, but one of the guys on my school's message board says he reminds them of Tyler Smith...that seems about right to me (though his career hasn't gotten off to quite as quick of a start)

Just read this on Maymon

MADISON, Wis. -- Former Madison Memorial Spartan Jeronne Maymon has left the Marquette basketball team just games into his freshman season. Marquette head coach Buzz Williams confirmed that Maymon has decided to leave the program.

Tim Maymon told WISC-TV that news of his son's decision was a surprise to him and that he was heading to Milwaukee to try and find out more about the situation. Tim said Jeronne is doing well in school and is "loving every minute of being there."

Maymon was Williams' first recruit at Marquette and in Maymon's first season with the Golden Eagles, he was averaging four points and 4.2 rebounds a game. Maymon scored four points in 22 minutes against Wisconsin on Saturday at the Kohl Center.

There have been rumblings that Maymon might be transferring to Tennessee, but so far those are just rumors. Tim Maymon said his son is not transferring to Tennessee or any other university.

So what about Spartan senior and Maymon's friend Vander Blue who was going to join Maymon next season at Marquette? Blue's mother, Rita tells Mark Miller at wishoops.net that "Vander is going to Marquette, end of story."

Heard a lot of things that he's leaning towards Iowa State. Kind of a bad situation when you look at his family. I'm pretty sure he's going to stay close to home so this might not happen afterall.
