Today is the 2 year anniversary of when the Vols went to Memphis in the #1 vs. #2 game of the year and beat the Tigers in front of the entire country. Bruce Pearl straight up out coached John Calipari who had a really talented Memphis team. 66-62, that was one of the best days to be a vol...period. This video pretty much sums it up. Go Vols!

P.S. CBP,
we could use another performance like that on Saturday, out coach Cal again, who has cheated again to have a very talented team...

That's good stuff. However, it put the darn knot back in my stomach that I had that entire day.

I remember that game those last free throws almost killed me ahaha. I think that was no doubt our best team in the past couple of years, and that being said , It hurt so bad when Vandy beat us the next week

I was still living in Memphis at the time and learned later that there was a near riot among the inmates at 201 Poplar. Sucked that our time at no. 1 was so brief, but getting there is something many, many programs have never accomplished.

Then two days later the Vols lost to Vandy to offset that win.
Just saying.......

Well when you arrive at you home at 3:00 am then have to travel a day later while still having to keep up with classes and (in Chris Lofton's case chemo). To only lose by 3 against a top 15 team is almost a miracle.

I don't think lofton was recieving chemo then. Could be wrong.

Really? I read on ESPN.com in 2008 that he went through the season receiving chemo

I don't think he did, man. I think that occurred in the summer prior to the season, but he had lost weight and still hadn't completely recovered during the season.

Exactly! His chemo was over by the start of the season, but it's not like turning on a light switch. The effects linger for a long time. He had a ridiculously good season considering that fact.
