I had an offer from Vandy but I went to UT because they had the better anthropology program.

I am the firstborn of my generation and am part of a third generation of UT alums...I had a choice, but I didn't really. Not that I would've picked differently anyway.

Second generation UT grad. I had a choice for sure. But I wanted to go into Anthropology and UT has the best program in the nation. My dad sure didn’t put up a fight when I told him I wanted to go to UT LOL.

The funny part is the majority of my extended family went to LSU and tried to force their kids to go to LSU, most dropped out and transferred elsewhere. But they were convinced my dad forced me to go to UT when he made it explicitly clear we had to focus on the best school for us no matter what.

Since I graduated with honors and never transferred they should have realized I did what I wanted.
