2004, Auburn waxed Tennessee at home while UGA waxed Saban and LSU and handed him his worst loss. UGA riding high, TN ticked off. I believe regress to the means happens often. UGA will not play as well, TN will not play as bad.

The result in 2004? TN goes into Athens and left with a 19-14 victory. Some seem to think 10+ point spread is too low. Nay, opposite. This will be a close game. I took TN and the points. Will TN win straight up? Hard to say, UGA just finds a way to win even when trailing and winning games they shouldn’t.

How ticked will UT be? I imagine highly. Of note for the game, SEC opponents have scored a TD on every opening drive against UGA this year. If TN gets the ball first, they will get the lead. Previous 2 years, no one scored TD on opening drive vs UGA.

Give UT the lead, at Neyland, you never know how that snowballs with momentum.

Kirby’s Georgia teams are on another level compared to back then.

I could have sworn we scored on the opening drive in 2021 against them. Regardless, I just hope they’re fired up and play like it for 4 quarters instead of just a half. Pretty sure Georgia’s players ran their mouths after last year’s game. Our guys hopefully are motivated.

The above statement is true, and not to pull something out of the MIZ plan for UT, but their motto was something like "4 quarters of hell". This is the only way we hang w/ UGA this week. We are over matched at virtually every position but not devoid of talent like we've been in other years. We have to play aggressive/mistake free/physical football...and if we do, with the help of the home crowd, we may find ourselves in the game in Q4.

There seems to be too much discombobulation with the team right now. The players are not "giving their all." It was even admitted that they took plays off during the Bama game. We all know about the officiating this season, I don't see that changing against UGA. The SEC needs UGA squeaky clean going into the postseason. Despite the score, Milton was playing well in the Mizzou game until the pick six. After that, he mentally lost it. We have shown flashes of greatness in all aspects of the game, but we've never put it all together for a complete game. I mean, the Lord could come down from Heaven and bless the Vols to play a full game at a high level. If that happens, we might beat UGA. In reality though, aside from the second coming, I see a beat down.

Like the use of the word snowball in the last sentence, but it should have said “not a snowballs chance in hell we beat UGA”. Get real.

Sounds great. But, I must say, you sound like a man trying to talk himself into winning a bet he's just placed. 😃

It may be close the 1st half, but we will come out flat as we always do after halftime and Georgia will come out strong as they always do.

That was nearly 20 years ago, a good memory but a distant memory just like our last trip to the SEC title game and SEC title.

I question whether or not some of these players care enough to be mad. Don’t get me wrong, many do care…..but body language and effort say a lot. Neither have been very good in 2-1/2 games this year.

We have a winner, this is exactly what needs to happen. Come in loose as we have nothing to lose, And play hyper aggressive on both sides of the ball.
If UT comes in playing not to lose GA will blow us out.
