Since I've been graciously asked to run the NASCAR pick'em for the 2006 season, I thought I'd make some suggestions and see what responses I get. I'll need a lot of input from as many of you who'll be participating as possible. Thanks.
(1) Postings will be listed for the pole winner and the top 5 separately. Picks for each will need to be in 1 hour before each (time trials and race).
(2) 20 points will be given to the people who correctly pick the pole winner and 25 points for picking the correct race winner.
(3) Pick a group of five "default" drivers that you'd like if you happen to not post your choices or you'll be given the 5 drivers from the previous week. (Note: you can have someone post your picks for you.)
(4) If a driver that you picked misses a race but someone else substitutes for him then you get the points for the number of the car that you picked.
Question- Do we want to do "THE CHASE" and still everyone would be able to play as it's done in NASCAR(i.e. have a particular number of points starting with the season winner and then deduct 5 or 10 points for each person)? When the top 10 are set after race 25 do we want to pick a top 5 group and get additional points for that or just do the regular 36 races and forget the "CHASE?"
Am open for suggestions.
Season starts on 19 Feb at Daytona.
