There is always going to be some busts, just like in the NFL Draft. However, most of those QB's are ranked appropriately.

The point is that a lot of people on this board are bent that we don't have a 5* QB on our list. How many people on this list have you even heard of?

Not to be a douche, but about 17 out of the 20.

It seems much easier to grade high school QB's entering college than it is college to NFL. Sure, there are the Cromptons of the world, but for the most part, can't miss talent is can't miss talent. You have far less big busts than in the NFL...at QB anyway.

Ryan Leaf, Tim Couch, Alex Smith, Joey Harrington, Heath Shuler, Akili Smith, Cade McNown, Dave Klingler, Andre Ware, Tod Marinovich (*sp*)

Possibly Leinert and Young

College Scouts have four years of High school ball to go off of, yet NFL scouts have 4 years of College ball. You'd think there would be a trend of almost total accuracy than one of a draft bust at QB every third year.

Just my opinion.

You've also got to consider in most cases a qb drafted in the top few picks is going to a terrible team (bad OL, no receivers etc.).

Usually a top rated qb chooses to go to a college team that is elite (very good OL, backs and receivers).

It's a big difference.

Why isn't Tebow on that list?

That is a good point, but the NFL is full of college football's elite lineman and receivers. Take a Matt Ryan or a Jay Cutler who has shown the ability to play and put them in Leaf's shoes. Now, put them in them in Couch's place. Do you think they fail miserably or they they pull themselves together and begin to make their team better? I think they make it.

I've gotten way off topic though. I'm talking about translating to the NFL. Sorry.

I really have no clue to be honest. There are just so many factors when you take a person who has nothing and is all of a sudden a millionaire.

Some can handle it and some can't. It's not just about football on that level.

Heath Shuler got his signing bonus and said "I never have to work again".

Peyton Manning got his signing bonus and said "I have to earn this".

I thought Heath Shuler injured his foot?

Shuler's foot injury was in New Orleans long after he got kicked from Washington. It was why he retired before Oakland gave him the boot.

I think the two quotes are accurate (not exact) of what the two said after signing in the NFL.
