Ainge will be just fine. In fact think of Erik Ainge in an offensive system that is primarily run first.

Besides why would you want to hand the reigns to a red shirt freshman and relive the past two years with all the quarterback problems?

Did you know that Ainge's 17 TDs at Tennessee when he was true freshman are only surpassed by the following 5 Tennessee quarterbacks in UT history...

Dewey Warren 18 (1966)
Heath Shuler 25 (1993)
Peyton Manning 3 times .. 22, 20, 36 (1995-97)
Tee Martin 19 (1998)
Casey Clausen 2 times .. 22, 27 (2001 & 2003)

I thought I got a whiff of deceased equine right before I opened this one.

As said in a previous thread, Carson Palmer was average at best till his senior season.

I have never understood the knock against Erik Ainge?

How many games has he started in college?

Does it comprise an entire year?

He is young and one should expect bonehead mistakes.

Coaching/preperation have hurt him so far, CUT will take care of that!

CUT! CUT! CUT!

I'd prefer the fax machine/copy machine than a dead horse.

Oh yeah, where is my stapler?

:banghead:

Better yet for all the crazy/looney Vol fans to quit complaining. Oh wait, that would mean I would have nothing better to do with my time! DOH!

We already have enough criminals on the team. Plus, he brings a poor attitude and a lack of discipline along with him.

I think we're lining up a few dead horses by even mentioning this topic.....

Elmer's Glue has opened up shop on this board.

1) Who knew Ainge was scared of getting hit?

2) And you simply can't go around pile-driving people because they whistle at your girlfriend (Schaffer).

anybody that says ONE player can change a WHOLE season doesn't have a clue as to what it takes to win in football obviously.

yep. unless that player is Reggie Bush...i think he could have made a difference for us this year!!

Anybody that thinks BS's stats are impressive should remember who he is playing against.

I KNOW IT'S JUNIOR COLLEGE AND HE'S NOT PLAYING AGAINST THE SAME LEVEL OF COMPETITION AS THE SEC, BUT FACT OF THE MATTER IS HE'S STILL A HELL OF A LOT BETTER THAN AINGE, HANDS DOWN.

AND WHEN HE MAKES HIS RETURN TO THE SEC HE'LL BE A HUGE THREAT TO US

AND YES I STILL BELIEVE THE SEASON WOULD HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT IF WE HAD SCHAFFER, TOO BAD HE'S AN IDIOT!!

the idiot part i kind of agree with...the guy made some poor decisions while here...but he wouldn't have made that much of a difference....

it takes two to complete a pass....and when one was working the other wasn't and vice versa....

get off the qb's back....we all know how bad a year it was, and so do they...

I look at it like BS lost his opportunity - and while he wants to come back to the SEC - where is he gonna go??? I don't see any teams out there that are taking QB's of his style and will recieve playing time in the near future - talented he may be - but he is a trouble maker and everyone knows that if you are bad enough to get booted off the hill then they sure don't want to touch you.

i dont even think i would say BS was better than Ainge, "hands down", Ainge still has a better arm in my opinion but one player that you refer to as an "idiot" could not have made that much of a difference on this team if any at all. i agree with you he made some stupid decisions and made some stupid mistakes but nobody wants a QB that makes stupid decisions or stupid mistakes on the field or off of it and if he makes those types of decisions on the field he's bound to make some like it on the field.

Yeah, Leak was supposed to be a threat that backfired against us as well. We can always speculate what could have happened but it was HIS mistake. Unless he grows up he will keep being someone else's mistake. Who's to say he won't keep making them and maybe even getting kicked out of schools altogether?

what did schaffer do for us last year?

He had some good plays. He was just a freshman. It's not like he was playing at the top of his game or anything. He helped us out big time in the South Carolina game.
