2007 New England Patriots vs. 2011 Green Bay Packers..

Pats. That team had a good running game and a great D. 2011 Packers have neither.

The 2007 New England Patriots remain the greatest professional team I've ever seen. While the Packers are slowly approaching that level, that '07 Pats team was just ruthless.

Yes. The 2007 Patriots were ranked 4th in both yards allowed and points surrendered. They had a great D. Losing the SB was an all-time choke job, and I can't believe Brady is still considered clutch. In the best 6 years of his career he has 0 titles, and only one SB appearance, which he totally blew.

Love that.

People need to realize that in his earlier years when they won super bowls, it was the defense. When he has been pouring on numbers, i.e. the 50 touchdown season and last season, they didn't win because the TEAM wasn't as good.

Brady is an all-time great. But people overlook what you said a whole lot.

For sure, but like Tebow, he gets too much credit for winning. His offense scored 2 TD's in 3 games in his first Super Bowl run*.

*Ironically, Brady fans criticize Manning's SB, claiming the D carried the team. Manning's offense scored 8 TD's (playing against 3 very good defenses).

And there are just BOATLOADS of fans out there that would have no idea about that statistic. It's no coincidence that they haven't won a playoff game since, when, 08? If you ask most Brady fans, he threw 19 touchdowns every game of that playoffs.

I think quarterbacks get WAY too much credit for winning. I think championships determining how "good" a player is is incredibly overdone.

As for the debate, I have genuinely no idea. The packers defense has been nonexistent at times this year despite having some good players.

I get criticized all the time that I rely too much on statistics, but our eyes lie to us all the time. Nobody seems to question the notion that Tom Brady is clutch. We saw him win 3 SB's early in his career, so it didn't matter what he did after that. He will always be considered "Mr. Clutch", even if he's not.

Manning is a victim of the fact that he played on successful teams that didn't win it all. Nevermind that those teams were probably over-achievers. Nevermind that he's had A TON of clutch performances in his career. He was tabbed as a choker in 2003 and he can't shake it.

Well said, I have said this thousands of times when the Brady vs. Peyton argument comes up.

Last playoff game the Pats won was the AFCCG before they lost in the SB to the Giants.

A good point. I mean, just look at what happened with the Colts this season versus what happened with the Patriots when Brady missed an entire season. Pretty telling...

Yes it is, imagine what the Pats would be like this season without Brady though. I am guessing they would finish about 4-12

The Packers would pick Brady off 3 times in this game... their defense isn't good - but they can force INTs for sure.

.

That's what all Manning fans think because they know he doesn't stack up to Brady when it comes to rings.

Trent Dilfer is as good of a quarterback as Peyton Manning.

Same amount of super bowls.

And No, I think that because it's amazing to me that the sport that involves the MOST reliance on teammates and has the most players to a team crowns one guy every year as the greatest thing ever. Super bowl wins/losses doesn't outright make someone a better quarterback.
