2007 NFL Hall of Famers selected

Now that we know who is going into the 2007 NFL HOF, who do in your opinion, that didn't make this years cut, should have?

I think Art Monk should have. He's one of the best at his position.

Guard Gene Hickerson, wide receiver Michael Irvin, guard/tackle/center Bruce Matthews, tight end Charlie Sanders, running back Thurman Thomas, and cornerback Roger Wehrli make up the Class of 2007 Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinees.

It is tough to rationalize Michael Irvin being in the HOF while Art Monk and Andre Reed are not.

Michael Irvin - 750 catches - 11,904 yards - 65 TDs
Art Monk - 940 catches - 12,721 yards - 68 TDs
Andre Reed - 951 catches - 13,198 yards - 87 TDs

Monk should also receive bonus points for having to listen to Joe Theisman all those years.

Peter King had a good article about this.......he voted for Monk this year.

he says though that this may have been his best shot, because as more time goes on, he'll begin to lose the numbers game. and he doesn't think Reed will get in simply because of the system they played in......??? i don't know that i agree with that......but i dont' know that reed or monk will ever get in based on what he said transpires in those meetings........

I personally don't think Thomas should be in. He was a good running back, but not great IMO. I remember right after he lost the fumble in Super Bowl XXVIII that James Washington took in for a TD, Thomas asked to be taken out of the game with "cramps". That to me is not greatness, especially when the guy on the other sideline was playing through the playoffs with a seperated shoulder. :twocents:

You could argue that about a lot of positions, but that isn't what I was trying to say. Do you think there were twice as many O-linemen deserving of Hall of Fame induction during that period as there were receivers? I don't, so in essence, I think the WR position has some catching up to do.
