Who are the best players that are seriously considering UT? When will they commit? Will this class be a top 5 class? I am talking about football.

I think the best players in a nutshell who are considering UT are Terelle Pryor, T.J. Bryant, E.J. Manuel, Shayne Hale, Marcus Forston, Deion Walker, Brandon Barnes, DeAndre Brown, Robert Quinn and Antoine McClain. Out of all those, I'd be looking for Manuel, Forston, Quinn and McClain that UT will push for. We have to load up on OL and DL this class. Barrett Jones is a very good OL out of Tennessee that we are high on and likely to get. Most of these guys won't make any committments until they take their visits in the fall. As for a top 5 class, hard to tell, we're off to a slow start compared to the likes of USC and Georgia, but never know, last year's class got off to a slow start as well.

Manuel will go FSU. Pryor will go OSU or PSU. Bryant will go FSU. Hale will go OSU or PSU. Forston will stay in Florida(UM maybe). Walker will go FSU. Barnes already dropped us. Brown may go LSU. Quinn is a legit possibility as is McClain. Jones isn't a most likely get either. His dad is a Bama grad and he is really good friends with UAT lock Tyler Love.

I just listed the guys who are still considering us, I don't know where they'll end up going, just who they're considering.

What's the deal with Penn State's recruiting of late? I remember them getting two great players in Derrick Williams and Jeff King a couple of years ago. This year, it seems like they are in on a lot of good prospects and already have quite a few commits. Do they have some really good recruiters on staff or something?

Justin King, and they are good with regional players. Walker may end up at USC since he is from LA. I'm not being bleak. These just aren't realistic players for the most part. There will be studs emerge and, if we have a huge year, we may get on some guys that aren't listing us right now. Yet again, signing day is very far away.

yea it is waaaay to soon to start worrying about guys who havent committed yet... who knew Marvin Austin would pick UNC at this time last year, or even Eric Berry would commit to us

Ummm, I knew since day 1 that Berry would be a Vol. Now maybe Lennon Creer or Ben Martin, or one of the JUCOs. Yeah, that is different.

Yeah, Jeff King was that TE from VT. Whoops. I'm not worried about UT recruiting, just curious as to why PSU seems to be getting so much talent.

Casey Kelley- just spent some time with Cut... we stand a good chance if we push for him
Burnette- don't know anything about him
Pryor- will end up in Big 10, either OSU or Penn St.
Williams - big-time RBs from VA usually stay in VA
Poole- already committed to us, says it's solid committment now
Bartholomew- committed
Wilkes- if we push for him like we should, he should be a Vol, but we've lost the best WR in-state before (Patrick Turner)
Adams - Auburn and UT lead
Bell - UT committ, we'll see if it stays that way, I do like WRs from Florida though
Douglas- UT commit... HV says he'd likely be moved to OT at UT, if so, be interesting to see if another school comes along and says he'll play at TE right away and see if he wavers
Bailey - like our chances with him
Jones - don't like our chances, likely end up at Bama
Spurlock - like our chances if we push for him
Wallace- UT leads for him
Andersron- commit
Page- would love to land this big guy but, lots of other teams really interested, including both Clemson and S. Carolina
McClain - really likes UT, decent chance we get him
McAdoo - hard to think we couldn't land him if we wanted him
Mackey - think UT leads for him
Quinn - former teammate of Carlos Dunlap, Florida signee... Gators will be tough to beat but he really likes UT
Walls - UT leads
Hightower - honestly don't know anything about him
Holloway - ?
Johnson - UT commit, seems pretty strong with it too
Manning - if he visits, stands a good chance but has leaned towards N.C. State
Mitchell - ?
Parks - between UT and Florida, having Berry doesnt' hurt
Sommer - South Carolina leads
J.T. Floyd - says committment is strong, watch out for Spurrier though
Jordan - lot of Brentwood guys end up at Auburn
Robinson - arizona commit
abrams-ward - Clemson does well with these type of guys but if we can get a visit, we'll stand a decent shot

I don't know about you guys, but personally, I would really like to see us load up on some linemen for the 2008 class. Sure, it might not end up being as "sexy" as this 2007 class was as far as rankings, but I think we have a big need for some linemen, more especially on the defense. Our depth hasn't been as good as it was, and it sure wouldn't hurt to start building it up again. However, if there is a big time playmaker out there, go after him, but I would love to see us get more linemen for this class.

HV, I think you are giving FSU to much credit right now on some of your picks. They have fallen back lately and I know they are ranked high right now preseason but I am willing to bet that most of the kids that have FSU on their list will drop them before the middle of the season. JMO.

Maybe, but alot of these kids grew up FSU, ala Bryant(FSU pipeline) and Manuel(committed). Walker is good friends with Manuel and has expressed interest in playing together in college. Have you seen their commit list to this point? 2 5*s, 6 4*s, and 4 3*s. They are bringing it this year in recruiting. Maybe some guys will switch, but idk. Alot of these guys have been Noles for a while. And Walker may go to USC because he is from LA.

Dawson, I disagree, with the addition of Jimbo Fisher and the early commit of EJ, I think FSU is poised to have a monster year in recruiting.

I think they are ALWAY poised to have a big year in recruiting. Hell, they could just recruit the state of FL an turn out a top 10-15 class. I agree with your pipeline HV. Kids however may watch a school growing up (most of these kids remember FSU in the early 90's growing up), but they want to go to a school with success. I just dont see FSU pulling a top 10 class.

FSU has a very good chance of being a top 10 class. Don't be surprised by the level of recruits they pull, Dawson. They have some solid recruiters. Also, UCLA has 13 4* commits right now and they're listed as #1 in the team rankings right now, too. They're right up there with FSU in terms of success in football (at this point), yet it just shows how great your recruiting class can be with the right location, coaches, and momentum.
