Today the festivities start up with the Futures game. Probably one of my favorite events of the entire weekend.

No words can describe how much I despise him and his Home Run Derby act.

I don't want Fielder to win...the HRD has a bad habit of messing with a player's swing.

What's wrong with him repeating his totally tired "BACK BACK BACK BACK" every time, always 5 minutes after the ball was hit? Oh, and his great nicknames!

Man, I always sort of look forward to the Home Run Derby, but I always end up getting bored with it about halfway into the first batter.

Anyone else notice how they completely snubbed Big Mac last night? Stan "The Man" this, and Ozzie Smith that, but no mention of Mark McQuire at all. Nice job StL.

Considering his disappearing act from the public eye since he made a fool of himself in front of Congress four years ago, I'd say it's entirely possible he declined to show up even if they invited him.

While that maybe true, you didnt find it odd they made no mention of him? Regardless of his situation and deceit, I expected them to do so. It would be like Cincy hosting and not mentioning Pete Rose imo.

I honestly hadn't thought anything about it until you mentioned it here, but I can understand why he wasn't brought up (whether that be by design or if he just declined to show up), but it would have looked kind of silly I think to have Albert Pujols there as the face of the game and of the All-Star festivities while again having to answer questions about performance enhancing drugs and proclaiming that he's clean... and then having one of the key figures from the Steroid Era there in attendance as well.
