2010 Division I BlueCross Bowl Class 6A Football Playoff Bracket

This is an awful bracket.

1.) A 3-7 Coffee Co. team gets in, over a 5-5 Siegel team. Siegel is said to play in 7AAA which is named as one of the top 10 hardest conference in the country. I don't care about conference wins/losses but no team under .500 should get in.

2.) Riverdale, the 4th place team in District 7AAA gets in the East bracket, 2nd branch. While the top 3 teams in District 7AAA get bunched together in the West bracket, 1st branch. That's total bs for Smyrna, Blackman, and Oakland having to play each other in less then 3 games. Oakland and Blackman have to play 2nd round if they both win, then the winner has to play Smyrna, while Riverdale plays Franklin Co. 5-5, then the winner of Lincoln Co. 5-5/Soddy Daisy 6-4, then would probably play an OK Bradley Central team. Its awful organization and team selection by the TSSAA. I'm disappointed.

How about Brentwood? Won their district and is seeded 8th and have to play Smyrna on the road. While Riverdale finishes 4th in their district and is seeded 2nd.

It's Dobyns bennets to lose.

This year will be like all other years for DB. Theirs to lose and they will. They are not then, now or in the future in the same class as the 7AAA teams and history proves that beyond any shadow...

7AAA 10 State titles and 17 title appearances in last 29 years. Over half the games have had a team from this district. East TN. High school football is plainly inferior. JMO

The fact that Oakland, Smyrna and Blackman are in the same quad is stupid. Their only losses are to each other. If DB played Ensworth, Riverdale, Smyrna, Blackman, Oakland and Brentwood in the same year as do these schools, they would be Lucky to be over .500 in my opinion.

PS. I lived in Johnson City for 6 years and am no homer...GBO

I agree with this. D-B is a good team this year, but they have Maryville in the same bracket. IF they get by bearden(I will def be at that game) it will be a miracle. D-B has this issue with choking in the playoffs.

I don't follow HS football too much but I follow Hendersonville which is in 9AAA. The question I have is why is Mt. Juliet in 6A for the playoffs coming out of 9AAA while three other 9AAA teams are in the 5A playoffs? HHS, Beech and Gallatin are all in the 5A bracket coming out of the same class as Mt. Juliet.

I assume they are paired in the regular season based on location then the playoffs are based on the school size, is this correct?
