Assuming the remaining recruits we attain will all be 4 or 5 stars, which is somewhat safe to say, lets move on to see who everyone thinks our sleeper will be this year.

Some could say Greg King, and Mike Edwards were sleepers last year as they are contributing a bit and going above their 3 star ratings. Whos this years?

Im saying Michael Taylor and Jose Jose, opinions?

Great question.

I think we put too much stock in star ratings. Looking at Taylor I think Rivals has him ranked too low. He's a 4 star on Scout and an ESPNU 150 player. There's no doubt that he'll have success at the college level.

Jose Jose is another one of those "low" ranked guys that I believe is gonna be a hoss at this level. He has unbelieveable quickness for a guy his size -- coupled with his strength. His success wouldn't be a shock, in my opinion.

One of our commits that stands out who a few people remember/think about is Channing Fugate. So, if I had to pick right now he would be my sleeper recruit.

Even if we sign Cullen, James, Moses, Stone?

Maybe. Dude, he's good. He's VERY underrated by Rivals. Fulton was OL MVP at both the Illinois and the UT camps. I'd definitely take him over Stone since he pretty much dominated him at UT's camp. I'd take him over Cullen because Cullen will only have 2 years to play. It would be close between him and James for me. I'd probably take Moses over him. Just saying, when it's all said and done, Fulton might be the best OL we land...

I heard somone compare Channing Fugate to Jacob Hester when we first got him. If that is true, 4th and 1 will never be another problem for the next 4 years.

Oh I agree he is underrated I hope he comes in and turns out to be a stud! Which looks pretty possible.

You're right Vader. Not only is he very underrated by Rivals, but ESPN gave him a fairly scathing evaluation. I think he's gonna surprise a lot of people.

I have no doubt in our staff's ability to evalutate talent and potential.

I like Cullen because of his experience playing at a higher level than incoming freshman -- albeit, not against the quality of athletes in the SEC.

I would be more than thrilled if we take Moses, Cullen, James, Fulton and Jose. Green could potentially be a big bonus. The question remains: will we take 5 or 6 lineman in this class. We're beginning to run out of room with some of the guys we have on our board. However, that could be a lethal OL in two years.

Palardy. He could be all-sec his first year.

I am thrilled we have Palardy, but I don't necessarily put him in with "sleeper" recruits. No one doubts his ability with his leg and the pigskin. He should be a great kicker for us.

..out of the room while they were watching film of him and others at the camp and offered him on the spot.

Which really wouldn't qualify him as a "sleeper." Sleepers are usually your "low" rated guys who don't have coaches beating down their doors to talk to.

Demarco Cobbs is under rated. That is IMO.
The number 1 overall player in Oklahoma. Look at his offer sheet, and only a 4*

But you want someone who is not a big name on our recruiting sheet I think will be good. Then I'll say Channing Fugate, but it wont be an instant impact.

You make valid points, but I don't think his 4 star rating is tantamount to "underrated." Star rankings are subjective among the Big Three. Scout has him as a 5 star prospect and ESPN ranks him as the 17th best player in the country, regardless of position. So, I don't think he's as underrated as some would make him out to be.

Remember, Jacques Smith is the number 1 ranked player in Tennessee and is only a 4 star according to Rivals. Oklahoma produces more talent than Tennessee, but not by too much.

Go Vols!

I dont pay attention to ESPN or Scouts rankings much.
I will take that OKL pipeline all day.
