If you could only give out 10 scholarships for the Vols next season, who do you want (players we have a legitimate shot at)?

Who I'd take:

1. DeMarco Cobbs, ATH
2. Robert Crisp, OT
3. Corey Brown, RB
4. Ego Ferguson, DE
5. Evan Hailes, DT
6. Phillip Sims, QB
7. Justin Hunter, WR
8. Justin Maclin, LB
9.. James Stone, OL
10.. Jacques Smith, DE

One down...

I'm excited to see who Kiffin and Co. can pull in next season.

I do like Blake Bell and almost put him on there instead of Sims. We have a connection with Sims via Askew so that's why I placed him there. I didn't see your list until now but we have several of the same names. I barely put Stone ahead of Tait and Shuman but would take any of them (behind Crisp of course).

On defense, Miller looks to be the perfect fit for Monte's D. I put Ego slighly ahead of him because I don't think we can pull Miller away from other schools.

Future looks great.

I don't mind having Heaps as long as Simms is under center while Heaps serves his mission.

That whole situation doesn't allow you to recruit the way you would want to though. It's also tougher for these guys to get back into the speed of the game after leaving for that length of time.

I only want the top QB's, DT's, and OL's. Nothing else is needed and forget about the ratings if you get these.

You are right, but he could redshirt his freshman year. Leave for two years. Come back and learn the offense while see some time behind Simms or another QB and then still have three years to be the starter.

It's not ideal, but it could work.

When you break a player from sports, most of the time, they have a hard time getting back to speed. This is especially true when the game speed changes so much from HS to college. Is it impossible for his to come back and play well?? No, of course not. It's just not as easy to do as one might think.

He could do his mission trip later in life no?

Not really. There is such a thing as an adult mission that you can do with your wife, but that comes after retirement.

This mission is for a young man to do on his own and is only available from 19-25 years of age.

My guess is this is something that is very important to him and is worth risking any NFL career that he might have.
