Per ESPNU Super 60:

Amber Orrange, the 5-foot-7 junior combo guard from Houston, Texas, has an early list of schools according to George Washington, her Houston Heat club basketball coach. Her early six leaders are Baylor, California, North Carolina, Stanford, Tennessee and TCU, though she is still open to other schools at this early stage in her recruitment. Other schools showing interest thus far are Clemson, Kansas State, Missouri, Texas and USC.

Orrange, a star on a loaded Westbury Christian High School team and ranked No. 49 in the ESPN HoopGurlz Super Sixty.

(Correction: Stanford does not submit applications to the junior class until late winter. Orrange has not applied to Stanford but has submitted her transcripts to the school and is being actively recruited.)

With that last name, she really needs to play here.

It's either us, Texas or Clemson. I notice all three are on her list. I guess she could go to Syracuse, too, but Syracuse isn't exactly a women's basketball power.

Clemson isn't either. Also, Texas hasn't been relevant since Jody Conradt retired.

Clemson has had its moments. And Texas doesn't exactly suck--unless you're comparing them to the Conn artists, in which case every other team in America looks like they suck.

We do not anticipate signing anyone else, but the late signing date would be in April 2010.
