2012 Chevrolet Corvette Daytona Prototype unveiled

It's not every day that we get to feast our eyes on a new Corvette, and even if this isn't the much-anticipated C7, well, at least this one is in the here and now. This 2012 Chevrolet Corvette Daytona Prototype will race in the Grand-Am Road Racing Series next season, making its competitive debut at the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway on January 28.

Been waiting for weeks. Reminds me of the Pratt and Miller render from a while back.


Also in Grand Am news, 50 Plus Racing, the team that will have AC/DC singer Brian Johnson as a driver in the Daytona 24, is based out of Chattanooga.

I rather like it. I always thought the Daytona Prototypes looked goofy with the huge greenhouse. But this looks well proportioned.
