I'm noticing a lot more threads on 2012 prospects, at all different positions. Not trying to look into the future or nothing (far be it from me to do that), but in your opinion, and given how the 2011 class is shaping up, what do you feel are the Vols' biggest needs as pertaining to positions for 2012???

I'll hang up and listen.

I know most everyone projects him on the OL, but say Cam Clear pans out....or if he doesn't, and we get Jay Rome as well....is TE still a big need???

You can never have too many lineman, so we'll take some next season as well. Basically, we will recruit all positions I think because we are still building depth everywhere, but I would think LB and TE might be priorities, jmo.

Yes, Downs will be redshirted next year & Rivera leaves after next year. We have no depth at all at TE.

Just saying... So many players getted dubbed "elite" and then bust. See also Jerod Askew.

I understand what you are saying. I agree with you for the most part. A decent athlete in West Tennessee can look like a super star cause there is just not much of a talent base. I think Chris Donald had a lot of talent and showed out, but in the SEC it isn't all about pure talent. You have to have the stuff between the ears. From what I have heard about the types of recruits Dooley seems to be after, hopefully these "character/smart" kids he is supposedly recruiting will decrease our risk on these "elite" busts. We will still have them I'm sure but hopefully it won't be as frequent.

If we don't land the 4.3-4.4 elusive back who can carry the SEC load, we need one in '12

I'm really hoping we can land Brian Kimbrow from Memphis in next years class. He has been clocked in the high 4.2's multiple times.
