Anyone else worried this is going to be the worst recruiting class in Tennessee history? Tennessee is not even close to being in the top 25 on anyone's board.

Dooley's inability/lack of effort on recruiting is going to hurt Butch Jones. Hopefully he can work a little magic and close strong.

Remember how in shambles the class was when Kiffin left? Dooley worked a bit of magic in the short time he had. Expect CBJ to do the same and finish top 15. Relax we got a while before NSD.

I think the new guys will turn in a respectable scorecard when all is said and done.

But, even if the class doesn't come through, it is the price of doing business. The problems of having a bad coaching run don't just go away when you walk the guy out the door. It takes a while for the scars to fade.

It would be hard to be worse than Fulmer's 2008 class. This class will be fine, probably not great, but it will be fine.

Agree, but the kids were commited to Tennessee and Dooley did a solid job of keeping them. Dooley didnt set Butch up with that situation.

Our current terrible ranking is almost entirely due to having only 15 commits right now. Even filling our remaining spots with mediocre talent will have us a much more reasonable ranking. I think we will do much better than that and land a few big recruits and finish in the 10-20 range. Calm down and breathe.

IMHO Butch will do fine. I can't remember a headcoach that has hit the ground running like him. Man, this cat is pure adrenaline. I think it bodes well for upcoming recruiting class...but, as usual, we'll see on signing day.
GO VOLS!

As of this morning Rivals has UT at #40 with 15 commitments. If the Vols take an average class of 25 or so and the addtional players average around 3 stars they will likely finish somewhere in the low teens. Not great, but good enough under the circumstances. It's then upon the coaches to make something of the boys for a change.

I agree that CBJ will do a great job and that we will close strong. My fear, in the wake of what has preceded, is that our rivals are leaving us further and further behind.

We will be fine. I have no doubt that when the recruiting dead period is over we will be picking up some major steam.

When Dooley took over Kiffin had a top 10 class put together. Jones is taking over and the class isnt even ranked in the top 30

Relax folks. We're going to have a great class. CBJ still has time to work his recruiting magic with our great recruiters in CJG, CWM, and CTT.

Way too early for this.

CBJ seems to be a "go getter". Also, he brought some coaches in that have ties to good recruits. I believe he will impress VN with recruiting and coaching.

Actually you got that backwards. The kids Dooley has committed are more committed to UT than Kiffin's. Him and Orgeron slinging the hot sauce then calling kids on the way out of town telling them not to go to class. This is a much better situation and this class will be fine. Rest easy little one.

Thank you. That situation and our roster in general was way more a hot mess than now.

Forgive the hijack...

I was with the 11th in Fulda, Germany back in 1983. When were you with them?
