If Beard were 6'4 like Lyle do you think he would be a 5 star?

Probably not, he's not the elite level Lyle is, but then again if he was 6'4" maybe he would be idk. He's no doubt a solid 4* top 75 player though, he'd be a great get.

Based on the videos, Beard has a good shot. No highlights of him passing though which makes it hard to tell what kind of point he could be.

Like this kids size but hard to image him getting out of Indiana.

Our biggest comp will be IU. They have a bunch of guards signed for this year. You'd be surprised how serious of a contender we are. He's the real deal though. I witness him and a kid from where I live battle. I would guess right now we are in his top schools with IU and UofL.

IU and UofL scare me with Lyle for obvious reasons. I hope we don't hold off Beard in hopes of getting Lyle. Bird in the hand.

I think you take Beard regardless. We have to stop slow playing prospects. I'd love to have Lyle but beard seems like a very good future guard in case Landry doesn't work out.

This is what I am really liking about CCM. We are the only SEC school on this kids radar. CCM is going to go to Big East Country, Pac-12 country, and Big 12 country to get players. And because he is awesome in front of Mom and Dad, he is going to pull some of them. JMO

I would like to see him here. He is a shooter and he knows how to handle the ball. I think that we have a great shot, He was at UMASS for a visit according to his latest tweet.

Here is a article from where he was at a future 150 camp

Anton Beard, PG - Little Rock, AR (2014) | Future150

Scout Report

Strengths:

Anton Beard is, simply put, a scorer. His first option is always to fire away, whether it be from long range, or from mid-range. His form and release on his shot are beautiful, and he is capable of getting hot and making several shots in a row. He is also a strong combo guard who thrives on contact in the lane. Very aggressive on-ball defender.
Weaknesses:

Because of his 5'11" stature, he either needs to develop his ball-handling skills and his court vision, or fight an uphill battle as an undersized shooting guard playing major college basketball. While he plays with a lot of heart, he will need to tighten up his ball-handling skills to succeed at the next level.

I agree. I just wonder if the coaching staff does.

Beard, Cofer, Haas, Looney/Lyle and I'll be more than thrilled.

So where does this place us with Landry? Is he looking elsewhere? Or is CCM just solidifying the PG spot?

I think we will know next year. Give Landry a year see how he contributes and then decide. I still think we go after Beard and Looney
