6'0/160
Alpharetta, Georgia
Milton High School

Consensus 3* prospect. Really caught on this summer. High school teammates of Isaiah Manderson. Has offers from Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech. Tennessee visited him today.

Don't worry about it,Z..Some of us appreciate the info no matter how many stars a player has..I trust CCM,s judgment.:clapping:

It was more of the idiocy of the post.

Kid's only a junior. He's a top 150 player. He has multiple BCS offers. And well, nobody recruits with UK.

Well,I would think that a top 150 would be a good thing, but to some people I guess it's not..AJ Davis is a top 150 player and is a great pick up,IMO.

FYP

UT was recruiting with UK just fine for a few years there.
UK recruits itself to an extent, but they can't just hire anyone and expects the 5* players to come rolling in. That's been proven. And, UT has the superior in-state recruiting possibilities, by far. I'm not arguing something wild and crazy like UT having a better program; I'm just saying these superstars are coming primarily for Calipari.

I heard Jayln was a 5* in elementary school but he regressed a little in middle school to a 4*. Analysts were brutal to him as a true freshman in high school so stuck him as a 3*. So he averages as a 4*, right?

A lot of times these high star players play a lot of AAU and they aren't that good but their stars are overrated. I think the star system evaluates talent way more than work ethic and basketball IQ (Hopson). I'd take a 3 star (Lofton) that has a work ethic over a lazy 5 star that doesn't want to get better. But I would take a 5 star (Harris & Stokes) that has both over the other two :)

Stars do matter, but so does coaching, and you need those role guys.

Someone did a breakdown awhile back about past classes and the results, it was really interesting. You really have to have some of those elite guys(hubbs, stokes) but unless you're Kentucky, you also need those 3 stars who will stay four years. I did my own comparison last year of Tennessee and Michigan states roster...our players had the EXACT same average star ranking as Michigan State...yet people whine when we sign a 3*. It was just nice to show Michigan state has them too...with the right blend and coaching it doesn't matter...like I said unless you're Kentucky recent history has shown you need some 5*, 4* and even 3* in your rotation.

Plus in basketball you need role players. Generally 5 stars aren't willing to do that. Edit:just reread and saw your first line. Disregard thus post.
