College Baseball Daily does weekly projections throughout the season. The Vols enter the projections this week as one of the final teams in.

We play 10 teams projected to make the regionals, don't think we'll have to worry about SOS.:p

Way too early to be thinking 'bout this stuff, but it's been a while, so might as well enjoy it.

If you are an A&M fan, you got to love that projection.

GBO!

I'm happy that Tennessee has seemingly turned the corner in baseball! An NCAA bid would be awesome. Georgia Tech is having a poor baseball season so far, they are 8-7.

I see that Warren Nolan's RPI has us up to #37 with the 208th ranked schedule.

UNLV is 10-4 (we gave them 75% of those losses) and are #11 RPI.
AZ State is #48 at 7-6 (we game them 33# of those losses)

So against the top 50 the Vols are 5-1. Can't do anything about the really crappy opponents weighting down now. The RPI is very fluid now. Brown is 0-3 but #13 RPI because SSO is #1 due to 3 games against So. Carolina.

Purdue..........#122....1-10 overall
Appy State....#238....4-11
Quinnipiac......#281...1-8
La Salle..........#258...2-13

this week, wins will not improve the SOS that much.

MTSU.............#132....5-9
Missouri..........#174....6-7

All SEC Schools:

So. Carolina...........15-0....... 4
Vanderbilt..............15-2.......6
Ole Miss................14-2.......19
Kentucky...............13-3.......20
Tennessee.............14-1.......37
Georgia.................10-6.......47
LSU......................14-2.......62
Auburn.................9-6.........65
Florida..................10-6.......71
Alabama................9-5........90
Texas A&M............11-5.......93
Miss. State............12-7.......128
Arkansas...............8-5........142
Missouri.................6-7........174

I don't really see our numbers improving much until the SC/Vandy series..SOS will go up dramatically at that point would be my guess.

It'll be interesting to see UT play LSU. The Bayou Bengals always field quality baseball teams.

Me too, I mean, to be the best you have to play and beat the best, certainly with LSU, VANDY and SC on the schedule we'll have our chances to show where we are, for better or worse.

Lsu for baseball is like Kansas in basketball.
Be great to win that series make a statement vs a team that is usually cream of the crop.
The gamecocks can't recall the last time vols won a series vs them that would be major.

Series wins over both or either of them would be major make a statement vols have returned to winning.

Vandy
This would be major against the main hated instate rival but not on the same level as Lsu or South Carolina in my opinion.
Not unless we're playing a vandy team like the one in 2011 that had a onslaught offense.

I still remember like it was yesterday vols beating Georgia tech to get to the World Series first game a late home run to take the lead, second a all to easy blowout win.

Great times that was 2005.

At this moment, those are the three elite teams in this league. That might change but people shouldn't forget last year, in the first four weeks of conference play we went 3 and 9, the only thing that is different in terms of the schedule is Auburn instead of Alabama (as it relates to the first four weeks)...we play 2 of those elite teams on the road.

We'll improve that 3-9 conference start by at least 2 games this year.

I hope so and I think so. That's absolutely fair. I'm worrying about 6-6 or 5-7 and the reaction that may ensue.

Its amazing the changes that can happen in just a season or two. Suddenly Arkansas is struggling and Tennessee is doing great!

Just pointing out (in the humblest manner possible) that my prediction made on March 14 was exactly correct.

Congrats Showmevols on that on the mark prediction.

Vols yesterday made tennessee tech look like crap 10-1.
With that great win it matches their win total from last year. This weekend on the road at UG dawgs.
Need to continue with momentum and continue to win conference series. A sweep vs the dawgs would be major.
Also impressive because they would have climbed out of a 3-7 hole winning 5 straight conference games to improve to 8-7 for conference record if it
were to happen.
