We need a RB capable of turning a 5 yarder into a 50 yarder.

We need linemen who can run block.

We need pass rushers.

Most of all we need DBs who can run. Florida took the lead on a 2 yard pass where Swafford let him get outside. Randolph is not fast enough to come all the way from center field all the way to the sideline. We need speed upgrades everywhere.

Most of the 2014 class, as good as it is, won't be ready to contribute until 2015 or 2016

You see what happens when a Freshman starts a game against a more experienced SEC team

Yeah it's going to boil down to recruiting for Butch. He can be the nicest guy out there, say all the right things. Without talent i'd say after 3 or 4 years we'll be doing this all over again. He has to get the roster upgraded quickly.. We don't have the horses period..

Could not agree more. I noticed on the run plays to the outside that everyone of our players were blocked when FL was running, but there was always a FL defender free when we were running.

I agree mostly with this except for skill positions minus the QB position. OL and DL normally need to grow and get stronger with the occasional exception.

Gotta say good job to Swafford though. Walk on true freshman with a pick six. Kids been workin.

Like Swafford and think he may be able to provide quality depth going forward (2014 and beyond). But he played like a freshman yesterday. Up and down. Really nice pick 6.... really bad angle/tackling on the WR bubble screen that went for 6.

Hope he continues to put in the work and gets even better.... we desperately need him and all other help we can get.

Hope our commits don't look at our games this year and change their commitments. Certainly looks like most will play their freshman year.

Speed is pretty lacking all across the board. We got big time exposed against Oregon---somewhat against Florida but the problem is still there.

Just hope our troubles don't scare away the recruits we have lined up. Selling them on the fact that the program is on its way back won't register as well when they see the utter haplessness of the current team on the field. Yes, some kids do want to come and start right away, but others see dreams of championships, high-profile bowl games, and the chance to play on Sunday. I'm probably over-thinking the factors an 18-year old considers in committing to a particular program, but that doesn't stop me from the nagging worry that we might lose some kids by the signing date (some of which is normal anyway), or not sign some uncommitted that we are gunning for.

We have talent it is just dumbed down. Jimmy Hyams noted the same thing saturday. He said most had under performed. Take it for what you want but coach
Jones (who has a mountain to climb) might by seasons end get these under performer to work. JMHO
i think he will GBO!!!!!!!

Lets face it our recruiting has been poor and is the only way to get out of this mess

That is just what I heard and read. I still think Dooley ruined most of the team. Do I see 7-8 wins this year.
No if we get it together 6..7 max. Same maybe next year. People can flame but I have my feet and expectations grounded on what I just said about wins this year and next.

Swafford has done a commendable job. Part of the reason we are in this mess is that guys like Gordon couldn't walk the line. Gordon was a good tackler and I bet that pass to Patton would have been stopped for about 3 yards.

We will finally have DBs in the fold next year. 6 are committed and we don't lose anyone - except for guys like Orta and Thomas - who have been recruited over.

There are freshmen that deliver. We need to find those kids. I think many of the 2014 class will contribute early.

I think most of our recruits can easily see that they will be able to play imediately, it, doesn't take much to see that.
