Looks like us and Memphis are the leaders.

Strengths:
Jalen is another smooth operator with freakish athletic ability. He excels on the break where he is a highlight waiting to happen. He has great size and length already for a wing. He has a very good skill set and very limited wasted motion on the court. Jalen is an excellent athlete and pulled off one of the best dunks in camp (Super Soph Camp) where he took off outside of the lane for a monster flush. He is a solid shooter with range to 20 feet. Lindsey is athletic enough to defend both wings positions as well.

Weaknesses:
He generally prefers to drive left even though he is right handed which can be predictable. At times Lindsey seems to lose interest in the game which directly affects his production in a negitive way along with his effort and energy. Strength is a big issue right now and with added strength will also come confidence. He needs to make his outside shot more of a weapon and will need to improve his ball-handling skills as he makes the transition to the wing.

Bottom Line:
Lindsey has all the tools to become a prime time player in the Class of 2014. He has nice length, understands the game, plays with passion and determination, and has first class athleticism. He is young for his class which bodes very well for his future endevours. He has always been able to out-athlete his peers on the floor, yet he has a nice grasp on his basketball future and knows what it takes to step up to the next level.

I have a friend of mine who goes to the same high schools as Jalen Lindsey and he says that Lindsey is really good. I hope to see him a couple times this year.

In basketball recruiting, they started recruiting guys in 8th grade.

Webster offered Jahlil Okafor (#1 center 2014) a scholarship when he was in the 8th grade, while interim at DePaul. Would say that was starting a bit too early.

Watched him tonight at the Arbys classic he finished with 14pts and took some really bad shots and also air balled a 3(the play was over before he did so) but he is really smooth and was double teams almost the whole game.

If he can learn when not to shoot and when to shoot he will be very good.

If it came down to Memphis or UT, it would probably be UT as Pastner is in for a rough ride in the Big East. He is a great recruiter but has yet to be a proven good coach. Not as smooth of schedule in Conference as C-USA. Just IMHO

Sure. The millions of dollars more for the athletic budget, all the TV exposure and huge national rivalries with the top teams in college basketball is going to really cripple recruiting.

No, that wouldn't hurt the recruiting. Losing more games than he would in C-USA would though.... It will take a few years if Pastner can last that long.

Pastner will always be good for one thing: recruiting. Going to a higher profile conference, even if it means more in conference losses, will only help him bring in guys.

He's gotten 5 5-star recruits and 4 McD's All-Americans to play for a C-USA school. Think about that.
