2020 Target List

Noticed that he has a left and right hook shot.
That is a tremendous amount of touch on his shots for a guy that is 7'4. And he is very smooth athletically to be 7'4. One thing that is glaring in those highlights is that he appears to lack aggressiveness/intensity and physicality. Get some dawg in him and his potential is ridiculous.

An interesting addition is Jordan Rawls at #65, he plays at HHCA in Chattanooga but unlike most of that roster he is actually a Chattanooga native...he’s a 6’3”/6’4” point guard so I’ll be interested to see if Tennessee turns things up with him given he’s at a position of need in 2020.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict he will sign with Duke-North Carolina-Kentucky-Kansas-Villanova or someone of that ilk. This kid is the real deal!

Well, so far, Duke is the only school from your list I have seen that he is currently considering. VQ rumored him to have been favoring Tennessee, Michigan, and Virginia and considering reclassifying to the 2019 class as of a couple weeks ago. His father, brother, and uncle all played for Georgia, and he is supposedly going to visit Duke at some point. He did pick up a UNC offer recently, I believe.

VQ was in Chattanooga to watch HHCA and IMG Academy play in separate games...

Said Samson Ruzhentsev is just a stone cold baller, flying under the radar currently but is gonna blow up in the spring. Really likes Tennessee but not close to doing anything anytime soon.

Jaden Springer was out with a minor injury, he said no one is recruiting him as hard as Tennessee is. Sees the success they’re having which validated what they’ve been selling him from Day 1, not close to doing anything but Vols will be there until the very end.

Will be disappointed if we don’t get springer especially with the connections with Bobby. Keon Johnson and Springer would be major

Reactions: Vols All Day
The Dr. Pepper Classic at McCallie brought some of the top talent in the nation to Chattanooga this weekend including one of Tennessee’s top recruiting targets in the 2020 class, five star guard Jaden Springer from IMG Academy. Springer, the No. 11 ranked player in the 2020 class, is out with a mild injury at the moment, but traveled with the team and took a few minutes to update his recruitment, which Tennessee is heavily involved with. “I’m hearing from a lot of different schools right now but Tennessee is recruiting me harder than anyone right now, I hear from them all the time,” Springer said.
He listed Auburn, NC State, Wake Forest, Clemson and Florida as among the many schools he’s hearing from in addition to the Vols. Tennessee was one of the first schools to begin pursuing Springer as a freshman, long before Rick Barnes’ program had ascended to the top spot in college basketball. Springer is certainly aware of that ascendancy, and it’s a strong selling point. “It’s been impressive to see what they’ve done, it just kind of backs up what the coaches there were telling me all along, that they were going to build something there and that they would win,” Springer said of watching what has happened in Knoxville under Barnes.
Like most others, Springer has also been impressed with how Barnes and his staff have built what is currently the No. 1 ranked team in college basketball. Namely, without any superstar recruits like Springer. One of the most physically developed guards in his class, Springer is an offensive powerhouse. Capable of running the show at the point or playing off the ball he excels at slashing and getting to the rim but can also hurt you from behind the arc. In short, he looks like the total backcourt package at the moment. Asked what stands out the most about Tennessee right now, Springer has the same answer that many observers of the Vols have expressed this season. “The player development there is probably what stands out the most,” he said. “I like all the coaches there and you can tell that they really make guys better. That’s what I notice the most, that they haven’t really signed any guys who were stars in high school but you can see that everybody on that team has gotten better. “I’ve been on the campus there a couple of times and have a good feel for the program and the coaches. It’s a great place.” With the early signing period for the 2020 class still more than 10 months away Springer is in no hurry to make a decision or trim his list to a group of finalists. “Right now I’m still open to everybody, it’s too early for me to think about having a top-five or anything. I’ll probably wait until after the summer, see who all is recruiting me the hardest and places where I think I would fit in and then I’ll cut my list down.”

If grant were to go (a plausible scenario), landing Kessler and him reclassifying would be huge
Absolutely, if GW leaves he’s would definitely help ease that loss...with that said if he returns, and Burns/Kessler addition in place of Alexander is an upgrade in the post, would be a loaded team.
