Wouldn't that be an open palm slap. Leave AU for UW.

Wasn't Harsin kind of far down on Auburns list last year?

Hate to see who they would get this year with the plethora of big name schools out there.

Maybe they could lure Botch away from Arkansas St.

Looking at this list, the LSU and UF jobs stand out as the two biggest vacancies, with maybe USC in the same tier as well. All three jobs offer lots of in-state talent, and can draw on a national level as well. The rest you can rank however you want, but the top 3 is clear, IMO. And I'd put WSU, Troy, Mass, Akron, and FIU in the "also-ran" category. VT, U-Dub, and TCU are stuck in the middle.

This is going to be interesting to watch, because with 3 legitimate "destination jobs" open, the market for coaches who fit the bill is not exactly bursting with options. One of those 3 may have to roll the dice on an up and coming coordinator, or someone from the NFL ranks. But if I'm the AD at any of the top 3, I'm burning up the phone trying to find the right fit, and quickly. Current commits are now at risk, as well as the early recruiting window, He who hesitates here is lost. Needless to say that the big dogs in those conferences are already at work on poaching the top commits and those who have those schools on their list.

Time will tell, but I'd say the transfer portal will play a large role in how the new coaches at LSU, UF, and USC rebuild their rosters. The 2022 season just got a lot more interesting...and we're 9 still months away from the opening games.

As for me, I'm gonna sit back; cheer for the Vols; be glad we got Heupel; grab me a big 'ole bag of Orville's finest; and watch the show.

Go Vols.

Looks like Helton landed on his feet. Mora Jr, McGuire and whoever takes the USC job have their work cut out for them. Miami will probably wait on making a football decision.

Miami fires athletic director Blake James; Jenn Strawley to serve as interim AD

Word is that the 'canes have a strong interest in Baylor AD Mack Rhoades. Rhoades has a history of getting his football hires right at Houston and Baylor.

Saw a headline that Aranda might be getting one of those preemptive deals like Tucker and Franklin.

Looks like Sonny Dykes is getting ready to move and take some good recruits with him.

SMU just lost 3 recruits..the #7 receiver in nation and #6 safety in nation all decommitted .

That tells you all you need to know about what's about to happen on the Hilltop.

Wish Dykes had done this sooner so McGuire could have taken the SMU job.

SMU QB Tanner Mordecai (formerly at Oklahoma) will follow Garret Riley (Lincoln's younger brother) to whatever Garret's next job is.

Jerry Kill is on his merry way to New Mexico State so apparently he wasn't offended the job.

TCU interim head coach Jerry Kill to become next head coach at New Mexico State

Rumor is that Jim Leaving will be elevated to HC if/when Dykes leaves.

So I don’t care what happens at USC particularly, but I just wonder what they’re doing firing the coach in September. I guess they thought they couldn’t hire anybody until silly season, but it seems like they would have had a 2 month head start on interviewing people, and they seem not to have used it to any advantage.

A lot of competition for coaches this year. I am glad Pruitt cheated. Without it, we would've kept him and fired him this season. For once, it looks like our timing was right.
more likely that he would've gone 6-6, the usual flufferers would be gushing about his miraculous turnaround, and Fulmer would have given him a multi-million dollar raise and a few more years on the contract so we could fire him in 2022 for double the price.

I would have actually liked to seen Pruitt without JG on the roster for an entire year. Bailey showed some glimpses late in the season. Assuming that Pruitt didn’t get caught cheating, we would have kept him and likely Cheney for this year with Bailey as the starter. Not ideal compared to now but Pruitt’s entire tenure was tied to JG’s hip.

Why would you want to keep a coach the players did not want to play for?

Lets say the scandal doesn’t happen, there is good argument to make that we don’t have all those transfers and have a somewhat upperclassmen heavy 2 deep without JG on the roster. I’m just saying that Pruitt’s career will be defined by 2 things: pay for play and JG

Can someone explain why people are saying Auburn fans are wanting Harsin out? I heard this chatter going into tonight’s Iron Bowl. Just confused why some were saying he’s already on the hot seat.

Some commentator said today that, collectively, schools are paying ~$500 million to various coaches NOT to coach their teams.

Insane. The model, if there is one, is broken.

Recruiting is subpar, plus they’ve blown double digit leads in four of their losses this season. Not to mention that a lot of them didn’t want him in the first place.

I think these schools and AD’s around the country gonna get hard lesson to not fire coaches so quickly. If LSU essentially misses out on Napier, Jimbo, Aranda, and even Riley reportedly saying no, they will be in worse shape than they are with Coach O. Same goes for Florida.
