Am i just missing them, or are we only really talking about Pounds as a target with only 1 committed so far? I would think we would need 3-4 every class.

Volnation,

I am fully aware of current recruiting success. I have very happy with it! My question however, is the O-Line. We have 1 committed at this point. Are the coaches happy with what have in the tank currently, or do they have their eyes set on some higher rated recruits?

I remember a few years ago that Lyle got butchered on this forum for having a full recruiting cycle without having a single O-Linemen on the list....
I would like to see what other Vol fans think.

We currently have 22 recruits committed to UT. Only 1 of which is an O-Line Player. He also happens to be the lowest rated recruit on the list.

( i put just a notch of measure into (( expert )) ratings )

Thoughts?

Recruiting is fluid. Not everyone currently committed will sign with UT. The staff are still pursuing OL. As for the one we have committed, the staff are high on his upside and I trust their evaluation more than a recruiting service. They aren't sleeping on OL. They know they need more and are working on it. Not all kids commit early.

You're getting your crappy coaches confused. Dooley was the coach that had a year without any OLine. Butch just brought in undersized guys to run his mid major offensive scheme.

It all starts on the Line of Scrimmage. Depending on specific needs, it is generally best to take 4-5 offensive linemen every year, with maybe 3 defensive tackle types and 3 defensive end types. We will be fine. Pruitt got this.

It doesnā€™t hurt that we got a 5 star transfer in Cade. That gives us a little wiggle room with the OL numbers. I think they have some guys they are targeting though. I really like D. Pennington.
