Long time lurker, recent poster, first time starting a thread (and I did a poll, look out).

Which Tennessee football game are you looking forward to the most this season and why?

Personally I am most interested in the Alabama game. I’d like to see our Vols show some grit on the road and get it done in what’s hopefully a Top 5/10 showdown. I think it would also show a culture/coaching push towards regularly competing for championships. And who knows with the schedule changes, Saban might get his way and not play Tennessee every year, so it would be nice to end the yearly rivalry on an extra high note.

Obviously looking forward to redemption against South Carolina and can’t wait for the pups from Georgia to come to Neyland. It’s the off season. Cheers to bad journalism and useless articles from now until August.

On South Carolina, I think I get the hate, for this next season anyway. Hoping we don't have to start actually hating them on a Bama, Georgia or Florida level anytime soon...

I used Florida as my poll response, but it's a very close thing between them, USCe, Bama, and Georgia.
  • Florida because it would be SUPER nice to get a streak of our own going. Nothing accentuates Tennessee's rise so much as Florida's fall. Would effectively underscore that we're on a whole new trajectory with Heupel.
  • Bama because TSIO, can't have too much hate for those gumps. And similar to Florida, would be nice to get a streak going.
  • USCe is simple: revenge for last season.
  • Georgia is strategically the most important game. The road to Atlanta probably goes through that match.
So yeah, I couldn't argue with any guy or gal who put any of those four. They all make sense.

Go Vols!

p.s. I also appreciate the "all a dem" and "the next one" responses. Totally good answers, too.

Alabama.

They will be ready for the UT game and how the VOLS compete in that game will tell me a lot.

Is the consistency, culture and team growing.

How does CJH adjust his plan knowing the Alabama defense will scheme differently the second time around.

Can‘t wait.

Bama. Beating them twice in a row, and at their home, and when they are out for blood due to 2022. That will erase the taste of 15 years of crusted pachyderm poo from the Power T.

Losses likely to Alabama and maybe Missouri. I’m torn on that. Must beat UGA at Neyland. Tennessee doesn’t lose at home anymore. 2nd most important game is UF. Must put a streak of at least 5 on them and keep them down.
