2024 Presidential Race

This is why Trump needs to understand the moment and be “Presidential”. His speech at the convention quite likely was the first misstep. Kamala shouldn’t even be able to be close, but…

Trump has to walk a fine line between stoking the resentment MAGA class that is his base, whilst trying to appear somewhat measured and thoughtful, at the same time.

That's tough to do because the MAGA resentment class wants to see fireworks and anger. Insults. All the things they feel they can't say themselves in every day conversation. But to do so, he must abandon the pretense of moderation.

Spin this. Let’s see how you spin this.

I gave him detailed information as to why he was a sociopath, basically showing him his own statements. He put me on ignore for basically pointing out his behavior which was/is a sociopath in nature.

At the end he was trying to convince everyone he was worried about the GOP and Melania Trump. Classic sociopath.

I call horse s*it. A lot has changed over the last few years. Although in general I agree the best thing he can do is focus on the referendum of how bad the current administration is, I think voters care a lot more about policy than rhetoric or tone.

Why was he a dumb choice?

Marine,
Graduated Yale I believe?
Seems to have been a successful investment banker
Young, which we have all bitched about the old folks running the country and making a mess.
he is the Kamala Harris choice.

barely known
past vocal critic
doesn't really add anything, or have any real credibility.
got their current position because of something other than the merit of their positions or quality of the work they do.
appeals to certain fragment of the base more than the Presidential candidate does
no one wants to have them in charge, and thus won't impeach.

😂 Not even close.

This election hinges on independents, undecided and crossovers. With an entire media and other entities against him, they will nitpick everything trying to sway that vote toward Kamala. I agree, it should be about policy. The left will try to appeal to emotion, not policy, in order to keep those votes because they sure can’t run on policy. Trump doesn’t need to help them at all.

Not even close to correct. You need to look up the definition of resentment.

you are teaching a bunch of 5th graders, who are voting on what to eat for lunch the rest of the school year, and you get a vote too. The top two choices are ice cream, or cake.

you are diabetic. you could vote ham sandwich, maybe a salad, heck maybe you compromise and try to sway some votes to pizza. but your reaction is to just vote ice cream for the rest of the year, because you like it more. even though its a terrible option for you and the rest of the class.

and for some reason you think your choice of ice cream makes you better than everyone who voted for something else besides the top two popular options, or didn't participate in making a legitimately bad/dangerous decision for others simply because of your own preference.
I would change your analogy to this....the two choices are liver and chicken nuggets. I'm no fan of chicken nuggets and would never order them for a meal.......unless the only other choice was worse.

I hate liver and the thought of having that daily for lunch for the rest of the school year is repulsive.
I'm going to vote against liver by placing my vote for the only other viable choice....even though it's a choice I do no like.

I've said that if the two choices are relatively equal - vote 3rd party or don't vote.
But if the two choices are not relatively equal - it makes no sense to not vote your preference.

And in your analogy what if the nuggets caused you to vomit half the time...you'd still take the liver??
