If you are game, take a stab at your prediction for the top 5 in order next season, it’s starting to look like a huge battle upcoming amongst the top 4-5 teams. I’ll start….

SC (Latson and Okot was a strong haul)
LSU (with Fulwiley) (drop one spot without Fulwiley)
UT (I think this spot feels about right in year two)
Texas (w/o Kneepkens) (with Kneepkens flip spots with UT/LSU)
OK (switch with Texas if Kneepkens is a sooner)

Side note, like everyone else here, I am hoping CKH can avoid the cellar at Mizzou, but she has a major project in front of her. Thinking Kneepkens goes to UCLA, who knows.

Why do you think Fulwiley would impact LSU so much? The problem is that Mikayla Williams and Flaujae play the same position, and both are better. MF would play the disruptor role like she did for SC, but she’s not going to be getting more minutes unless Kim M turns either her or Mikayla into a PG…and imo that would be a waste of Mikayla’s skills and a turnover festival for Milaysia. I don’t see the fit here.

Right now, i think SC and Texas at the top, with LSU and Tennessee as a coin toss with both being closer to Texas than the Longhorns are to SC.

MF never played the PG role for any extended period at SC. They played her at the 2 and 3 spots mostly. But if given a chance to play PG and given a long leash, she has the handles and skills to blow up. Who do you believe is going to be the starting PG at LSU next season, and would you choose that player over Fulwiley?

I’d say that Jada, Kailyn and Mikayla will play point by committee. I agree with you that if given the opportunity to play through her mistakes, it will help MF’s game. Problem is a) she doesn’t seem particularly coachable in that regard and b) Mulkey WILL bench you if you don’t stick to the game plan. That’s why i don’t see the fit at LSU if she couldn’t handle Dawn’s coaching (taking MF at her word that it wasn’t about the money)

If MF goes to LSU she will be the starting PG, and rightfully so. You are off on that Jada/Kailyn/Mikayla PG by committee thought, way off. Please do not think I am being rude here, not trying to do that.

Guess we’ll find out. Seems she’s heading there, so we’ll see what position she lands at. Still think that’s a coaching mismatch for her. Talented player, but she craves the spotlight, and not sure that Kim is gonna give it to her.
I could see FJ being the 3 and MW being the 4 at times while MF plays the 2, it’s possible. But FJ excels at the 2 and MW does the same at the 3 so that is their normal spots. Fulwiley would start at the PG, that’s just math tbh. FJ handles the ball a bunch anyway, if you didn‘t notice…..she would share the backcourt with MF, who is not transferring from SC to play a sub role anywhere. If MF goes to LSU she is the starting PG, And Jazzy will be her backup

Really no way to say who has the best roster right now as I think they are all extremely close. If LSU gets Fulwiley and Williams I can see them having the edge that recruiting class has a couple of super players so with those two joining they look as strong as anyone. SC got two in lost two look to be depending on an injured player to make a lot of difference. Other than Fulwiley they also lost two key perimeter players. Oklahoma has most of their best players back adding a top five three point shooter and if they get Kneepkens would certainly boost them into a very elite roster. Texas has added Cunningham which is perfect for their style the number seven freshman they have coming in is good have most of their key perimeter players and Oldacre inside all back. So they have a lot of talent as well.

Tennessee number one or two recruiting class depends on who you want to listen to. Two key post players out of the portal that replace two that were just average at best. I think our roster is potentially as good as anyone in the SEC. Any of those four teams could be in position to win the SEC will depend on scheduling as much as anything else. If you had a road schedule that included LSU, Oklahoma, and one of the other top four that looks like a couple of losses this season as all these teams have weapons they didn't have last season. I wouldn't want to play any of these top four on the road this season much harder than last season.

I pretty much agree with Rooster's projections, but would put us below Oklahoma and Texas, especially if one of them gets Kneepkens. After that, I'd say Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky. Those all certainly look like top 25, if not Sweet 16-type teams. I also think Georgia should be really improved with their transfers and freshmen they're bringing in. I thought Florida might lose more than they did in the portal, so maybe they'll be improved, too. Alabama still has some pieces but I think they take a major step back.

Agree with you that a lot will come down to scheduling. Of those top 8, we know we'll play Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Ole Miss on the road, with Texas, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky at home. LSU we don't know, and we don't know who we might have to play twice.

South Carolina, LSU, Texas, and Vanderbilt are similar - 3 at home, 3 on the road, 1 TBD. Oklahoma and Kentucky have 4 at home, 3 on the road (double match-up TBD). Ole Miss has 2 at home, 4 on the road, 1 TBD.

In a league this competitive, looks like Ole Miss will have the toughest draw, and Oklahoma and Kentucky will get a slight leg up.
