2025 Recruiting

This weekend, Monterey (Texas) five-star point guard Aaliyah Chavez cut her list to 10: Arizona, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas Tech, UCLA and USC.
I’m assuming the Longhorns are the leaders here but I have not followed close enough to know anything tbh.

CKC faces the same problem Heupel did when he arrived. It's much easier to sell what you're doing once you can show it to recruits on the field succeeding against SEC competition. But that first year, he could only sell the concepts and demonstrate them on old UCF video.

I hope a lot of top recruits will keep us in their Top 10 (or mentally on a back shelf) until they have a chance to see it on the court. And I'll bet that's what she and the staff are asking of their top recruits.

IIRC... Heupel did pretty good on the recruiting trail after that first season!

Teams like this will still need top post players and those type of players will want to do more than just rebound and play defense. Has to be a balance so hopefully it doesn’t go away from getting the ball in the paint.
CKC did not have a very tall team at Marshall, so she created a success with what she had to play with. I am sure that she realizes at the D1 level, you can't control the paint and be a rim protector with a bunch of 6-foot and under players unless they are super athletic. I also believe that we will see better play out of our players reecruited by the prior staff. Most of those ladies ran flat footed and not on the balls of their feet and they had slow reactions on break aways. I believe that CKC and her staff will correct this issue.

Fun chart! I really don’t keep up with high school players, or even most recruiting, very much at all, so I’ll have to trust you that these future dream players for you are great ones.

I can say that I sure do love our actual reality roster for this coming season, though. We are going to have a little bit of everything to throw at opponents, and it’ll be fun to see and hear the buzz in TBA on game days.

This had absolutely nothing to do with what I posted but I agree with some of what you’re saying. 🤷🏾

Some are slow. But your running style observation may have been because most seldom if ever really ran full out. It was an 80-90% thing. Same with their closeouts.
