It doesn’t. I gave an example of Baylor a Top 20 team playing four players together 5’9 and under with a 6’3 forward at the 5. Tennessee still with a new look roster under CKC has more size and length than most WBB teams. CKC said after signing the class to the public in a press conference she has a few spots to fill when it’s time to enter the portal. She doesn’t have to go out and sign the first player from HS or the transfer portal that’s 6’4 just to add size that won’t fit the system.
Based on 10 months of recruiting, to me this idea of projecting how successful Mia and Mya will be at Tennessee is just a ploy to negate the enthusiasm of an elite #1/#2 HS recruiting class.
As I’ve mentioned, Baylor is one example but several other Top 25 teams have guards playing at 5’5-5’7 without a traditional post player on their roster.
Lauren Hurst 6’2, Deniya Prawl 6’1, and Jaida Civil 6’0 tell me where that HS class is lacking overall size and length?
It’s highly likely that CKC adds two post players from the portal, if both are in the 6’3-6’5 range then with Spearman 6’4, Latham 6’2, Hurst 6’2, Prawl 6’1, and two guards in Cooper and Civil over 6’0 the team next season on paper is even bigger in terms of size. That’s 8 players over 6 feet.
Lastly, there is only two players listed at 6’4 in the Top 50 in ESPN 2025 player rankings and neither is a traditional center. The 2026 class is no different. CKC is before her time and that’s why right now she’s a legit candidate for Coach of the Year in Year 1 on the D1 level.
How does playing with those women make Bobbitt any taller?
