TSSAA (Tenn HS) baseball.... every team has to advance through a double elimination to get to regionals... where they have to win 2 single elimination games to get to the state tourney. Many good HS teams get eliminated if they have to face off with a good team with an exceptionally great pitcher.

That just doesn’t fit what the sport is. Baseball is a game of series.

The pods are lame for the team who starts 0-2 and still has to play a game simply for the sake of the 1-2 teams still “alive” in their pod. If you’re a borderline NCAAT team then it gives you another opportunity to pick up a solid win to boost your resume but if you’re out already then its hard to get up for a game that’s meaningless to you.

IMO it would be a massive mistake. Hoover does a great job, everyone who goes knows their way around town, it’s “centrally located for the legacy SEC fanbases (which make up the bulk of the attendees anyway). Keep it like football and ATL.

Here’s the deal. I’ve never perceived any advantage gained by the Bammers at that venue. Hoover does a great job.

Today we order tickets for the SEC Basebell Tournament in Hoover. Been getting tickets for over 25 years. A great week of baseball with SEC fans & friends. Would not consider any place but there. THose folks do it right. GO VOLS :cool:

ESPN's Wide World of Sports Complex in Kissimmee, Florida has multiple fields. There are also several Spring Training Grapefruit League stadiums that are in close proximity to each other near Tampa.
