If there is a hard cap of 25 in the SEC how does bama hsve 26 commits and ark has 27?

yeah, you can count forward as a blue shirt if the prospect meets certain criteria, i forget the specifics...hasn't OV'd, head coach didn't go in home etc...

and you can back count if you under signed in the previous class AND have the available scholarships on the roster to do so. excepiton to that would be is if undersigned in the previous year becuase you COULDN'T sign the alloted 25. like you could only sign 23 becuase you counted 2 forward from the previous class.

you can also have additional spots over the 25 if you have current scholarship players go on a medical hardship, and you get a waiver to recover those scholarships in this current year's class.

all of this could be wrong. if i am, someone will point it out i'm sure.

i think we have some options. we get two scholly's back because of Devante Brooks and Antanoutti's medical hardhsips.

they may decide to use thsoe to to accont for a couple of transfers from last year.

or they may use them as additional spots for this year's class, and we sign 26 or 27. not sure how that will shake out. some think they'll do the former, and not try to get crazy again with grad transfers etc....i think they reached a lot last year for warm bodies to build some depth. i don't think they feel that exact same sense of urgency this year. so they may just go ahead and get those two schollys' off the books now.


a lot will have to do with who's available, who we get between now and Feb, and who's left over as we get closer to spring and summer. can they find another bryce thompson headed in to summer camp like they did last year?

safe to say there's still plenty of work to do as far as managing the roster is concerned.
