Pan Am Flight 103 was blown out of the sky over Lockerbie, Scottland. Lost on that fateful day were 270 souls. A lot of US Military, going home for Christmas were on that plane.
One was an AF female with her infant child, who she was taking home to meet the grandparent's for the first time. She was a member of our squadron that I had only met once.
She was taken to the airport in Frankfort, Germany by another member of our squadron. They were late getting to the Air Port, for whatever reason. She caught a later flight that would connect with Flt 103 at Hethrow International.
Here's to the folks we lost that day!
