JONES: We are here to protect and build on our tradition. There is a standard of excellence that will not be compromised.

JONES: Brian Randolph has done a great job. We have to pick our spots but he is everything we thought he would be.

JONES: Our current players are starting to develop relationships with our former players and I think that is big.

JONES: Our players are bigger and stronger up front but have lost weight. I believe Dave Lawson is the best strength coach in the country.

Damn, forgot about Randolph. Almost like bringing in another 4 star we didn't have last year due to his early injury. Plus, we have several kids who redshirted last year who should contribute this year.

Great news on Randolph. Can't wait to see how the secondary shakes out with him back in the mix and McNeil getting significant minutes at the end of the year.

Great to hear all this positive energy and excitement coming from our coaches and former players. It sure better then hearing "we suck, we suck we suck, we are a terrible football team."

Glad to hear that Riyahd Jones looked good. Need all of these JUCO's and newcomers to make an impact.

Is it just me or does everyone look more lean? I know they said they have been working on it, but it looks like there are actual results.

Looks like he is getting them ready for 4 quarters of fast pace football.

As in, we might actually last longer than one half of football against Oregon this go round?

I was at the game in knoxville a few years ago... Hated to see what that fired up team turned into after trying to keep up with Oregon after the first two quarters. It was embarrassing.

Then again, that was just a taste of things to come for what would be known as the typical Dooley 2nd half implosion... Ugh.

One of the many reasons that moving Brewer to LB is an excellent plan.

I found it interesting that one of the defensive linemen said in an interview that he felt comfortable in the new defensive scheme since it was very similar to the Justin Wilcox scheme. That defense was ranked 37th in the nation, much better than 110 under Sunseri. Things are looking up for the Vols!!!

Yeah, although, that hurricane COMPLETELY killed any momentum we had in the first half. After that was over, it was like a different Tennessee team was on the field.

I have moved on but its a shame that a 3rd player is just starting to develop a relationship with former players
