Hendon Hooker,
Heisman or not. National Champion or not, I am so so so glad we have had the pleasure
of watching this guy make Tennessee football beautiful again.

At this pace: with 4 more games to go.
He may finish with 4,500 and 42 TDs.
We may never see that again.

Awesome to watch and deserving of the Heisman for sure. But there is a chance we see it again in the next 3 years between Milton and/or Nico.

Not only that, but Milton ran and didn’t avoid contact. Great chance he’s going to be very good.
He’s really impressed me with his improvement this year. The young man is clearly putting in the work to get better. And he’s a graduate student so he really has time to invest in his game

I think HH’s final “Heisman candidate” line will be 3,600 yards passing 40 TDs, 500 yards rushing 7 TDs.

In my opinion that blows CJ Stroud’s resume out of the water—with a tougher schedule, no less.

The one thing that hurts is that all eyes will be on Michigan/OSU on Nov 26, so the recency bias will definitely play part if Stroud has a good game and HH will not have the benefit of a conference championship game to further his stats.

But, overall, to think that Stroud has actually had a better season than Hooker is absolute lunacy.

Our qb coach is doing a pretty good job too. There appears to be real player development going on here..recruits (and their families) like that.

This is one of those quirky years where all kinds of "what ifs" get answered on the field.

I think we end up as #3 vs Ohio State at #2
And then that will be something!

UGA vs TCU would also be good!

I say good bye. We have better talent coming in. And the players we have are getting better since the beginning of the season. Which is all we can ask.
Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn. Hell, who would have thought Tennessee’s receiver room would have two potential 1st round picks when Heupel took the job? No one. But they developed the talent. They didn’t make any excuses and coaches what they have. In other words the staff has gotten better results than the talent level would indicate.

It’s hard to argue that Tennessee’s problem on passing defense is talent. The recruiting rankings would indicate that we are FAR better than 127. I don’t think you realize how bad that is. Our talent is more than respectable. Any coach worth their salt can take respectable talent and do much better. Heupel’s offense has covered a ton of sins from this defense. Banks is not the answer. Martinez is terrible.

I asked the question during the game, what is the defense trying to accomplish? We were told it would gamble to create turnovers? This defense doesn’t create turnovers. At least no more than any defense on average.
when you’re this good on offense, it doesn’t stand out like it should.

Imagine if hooker was here for four yrs under Heupel every qb record would most likely be shattered
Whatever vols qb that's stays for atleast three yrs has a high probability of breaking some long time records under Heupel

Milton delivering the blow on run plays is a positive advancement in his development. Deliver the lick, don’t avoid it as he was prone to do last year.
We all know he has a great arm, but coupled with his new found running attitude and touch on his passes, the future is bright for Joe Milton and The Tennessee Volunteers!!!
