I really do not think we will get Jimmy and I am not all that disappointed about it. I just hope he stays on the West Coast and doesn't wind up playing for another SEC East school.

I saw Jimmy and his parents right before the SC game Saturday night. They were walking from the arena to gate 14 at Neyland Stadium apparently to meet with someone. They appeared to be all smiles, however, none of them were wearing Orange. As a matter of fact, mom and dad were both wearing all black which may or may not mean anything since we happened to be playing SC that night. Jimmy was in jeans and a neutral colored t-shirt. I was surprised that he wasn't taller. looked to be just over 6' but he did look like he was pretty bulky, so he may have just appeared shorter. Mom had a cell phone glued to her ear as all three were chopping at a fast clip towards the stadium. Once they arrived they kept looking around like they were suppose to meet someone, either that or they were waiting for someone to open up a gate for them(No hummer Limo in sight). No entourage I suppose since it was an un-official visit. The choice of colors by the parents appeared most significant now that I think about it. Maybe they used the opportunity to rub up with some big SC boosters in town for the game, or perhaps it was just recruiting gamemanship being played at an infantile level by Jimmy's parents, or perhaps the parents just didn't realize that Black is SC's color and they were enroute to a black-tie event...I guess it really does not matter til next year. Maybe then we won't care what the Clausens wear.
:lolabove: cloak and dagger? conspiracy theory? Nice work man.

he turned danny wuerfell into a heisman winner and rex grossman almost.

the clausens may think "if spurrier could turn a flop like wuerfel in to a heisman winner, think what he could do with jimmy."

that would look great on an nfl resume as a quarterback.
The NFL does not give a flip about the Heisman Trophy.

I think the Heisman can make a third round guy a late 1st round draft pick, which can mean one or two million in signing bonus. But I agree that winning the Heisman is not going to keep you in the NFL if you 'aint got the skills.

Spurrier is good at developing QB's there is no doubt. So is Cutcliffe. Its a half dozen of one, half dozen of the other.

What is hurting UT in Recruiting Clausen IMO, is having already signed a #2 prospect last year in Crompton. He is the heir apparent, and stands a chance of starting next year, if Ainge doesnt play better. I think Clausen is looking to go somewhere to play early.

If he were to come here, he'd red shirt, in 07 right? so that would put him at worst, two years behind Crompton. He wouldn't see starting time 'til 2010? And we're not even sure when Crompton might get to see signifigant time....Ainge has this year and next, so theoretically it could be 08 before Crompton comes in as a Junior....

yeah, i don't think he'll be wearing orange. of course, if he's that good, he could win the job and start in 08 or 09, you never know.

Obviously, if he's as good as advertised he would be a great pickup. But I'm just about already sick of hearing about him and its another year until any of this talk really means anything.
