3 runners picked off in one game

Yet we still won the game. CTV, wants the runners to be aggressive on the base path. Aggressive base running has gotten us were we are. It keeps the pressure on the defense.

Two of the three were not outs. Poor camera work, and a blind first base ump got them wrong. There will be better camera work during the tournaments.

No excuse in being this stupid and being so far off base. This will get you put out in tournament time.
No excuse is true, but I'm gonna put one out there. While they'd never admit it or even think it, deep down, I think they kinda took Mizzou lightly. The sharpness just wasn't there. Could have been the break kinda cooled us off a bit with the bats, but Mizzou is just awful this year and UT knew it. We didn't play well but we got the win. Maybe it was the cold water to the face that wakes us up for games 2 and 3.

Bad calls don't go down in the score book. Not negative. I'm all Vol and just think this is pushing the envelope. Be aggressive but be smart.

I see you what mean. CV also echoed what you're saying during his post-game interview last night. He said he liked the aggression from our guys, but that they also needed to have more control over their play.

Mizzou overall is awful, yes. However in Baseball a lot is dictated by the pitcher. Seth Halverson is a good arm and will be a high round draft pick. Mizzou has faired decent on Friday nights with the some wins and very tight games because of this. Mizzou’s best reliever might be cashed for the rest of the weekend after last night as well.

I would be shocked if either Kush or Veinbergs are available the rest of the weekend.

Booker was safe and the review proved it. 'Clear and compelling evidence needed to overturn' isn't really the standard, of course. The whole SEC review process is a charade.

They did not take Missouri lightly. No team in the SEC gets taking lightly except by the fans.
The fans look at the end results (wins & losses). They don’t remember or don’t care to look that Missouri had a lead on Vandy in 2 of 3 games, and Missouri has lost a number of games that could have went either way. Like last Sunday they had a 2-0 lead against Bama in the 8th inning. That’s the same Bama team we had trouble with and the same Bama team that lit Kumar Rocker up for 6 runs in 5 innings last night.

Whoever named this thread is misleading VolNation.
1. Rucker rounding 1st on a hit and slipping on his way back thus causing him to be called out is not considered picking off a base runner

2. Booker was safe but the hometown call wasn’t getting overturned

At worst it was 2 back pick outs by the catcher (Booker and Max). Really it was 1 and that was Max.

Our coach is aggressive and I think you can take more chances against the worst team in the league.
GBO!!

I was almost willing to accept the loss last night(by mizzou burning a lot of arms) if it gave us better odds to win Saturday and Sunday, for the series win.
GBO!!

You might want to watch the Vitello post-game interview on the aggression. He wasn’t too happy.
