If you haven't seen the latest one about NC State's 1983 team, you definitely should. It'll change your life!
My wife is not a sports fan at all, but even she LOVED this 30 for 30, and I'm pretty sure she cried a little bit during it, too.
For those that have seen it, is it just me, or does Jimmy V remind you a little of Bruce Pearl?

It'd be the other way around really on the pearl comparison.

but I agree. This is one of the better 30 for 30's in a while. I put it right up there with The Two Escobars and Pony Excess. Bill Simmons has done something pretty awesome with this sports documentary genre.

Caught it on late recently and stayed up way later than I should because I had to see it. Truly awesome stuff.

Watching it now. One thing I don't understand, they talked about a wake forest game they played where they said wake forest wanted the last shot, so they held the ball for the last 3 minutes. Which would suggest no shot clock.

Then when they're in the tourney, they talk about a game against VA where they hit a shot with only a few seconds left on the shot clock. Was there no shot clock in regular season play back in the 80's?

It was a conference by conference thing. I'm thinking the SEC used to be a :45 clock before the NCAA mandated 35 and made it uniform.

Also the three point line was a conference thing. Notice it isn't in every game from that season.

There was a game, I can't remember which one, tourney I think. They didn't have a 3 pt line, but they talked about early against Virginia that it was a big weapon for them. Then I noticed some courts had a 3 pt line while others didn't. Kinda strange.
