D Thornton said it best in an article I read yesterday. So many night games it’s hard to wake up hyped then be In the hotel all day and come out at 730 and just turn it on. (Paraphrased not word for word). I think it’s true tho. Also hard on a fan like myself lol. Looking forward to a big win tomorrow. Go Vols baby

I think it was last year, maybe year prior, Heupel was asked in a press conference what time he preferred to play (I think we had like 3 night games, or 2 night games and a 330 game, in a row at that point) and he responded much like Bru that he prefers the earlier time slots because it's just easier to maintain focus on the job.

Kind of think of it like you work all week from 9 to 5 and then on Friday the boss wants you to work 2 to 10 - it's hard to have the same focus in that 2 to 10 slot as your body is used to 9 to 5.

Having worked shift work for a lot of my career, I agree with this sentiment. Also, at my advanced age staying up well past my bedtime is hard.

UGA has won national titles 2 out of the last 3 seasons and Bama has a half-dozen since 2009. That's all I'm saying.

At least in the last few years (and the first few games of this year)-when our offense had a pulse-our games took forever. That's part of the reason for all the late starts. A 730 game going long doesn't screw up the rest of your broadcast schedule. A 330 game going 4 1/2 hours does.

None of crap matters NOW. NONE, they both struggle and have more collective talent than we do at virtually every position.
Maybe I shouldn't have used the word struggle. Like everyone else here, I just want us to win. If playing at night makes it harder for the team to play at a championship level then we're in trouble.

Look I want to win also but neither of those teams have a better record then we do at this time. 98 wasn't really a total domination either. We certainly haven't arrived. But we can play with anyone. That alone gives you a chance. Sure would have been nice to say that consistently for the last two decades. Slow down and take it all in. We are getting very close

My goodness. We're whining about the start time? The best game will be at night. Every week. Just like this week. I'm hopeful we're as many night games as possible. Means we're big time. GoVols 🍊

These players will have 2 or 3 night games in the NFL each season so being night owls is a good thing.

Night games are good if you’re the prime time game. My gripe with the games is they don’t kick off on time with too many commercials. Games should be 3.5 hours max. Networks should just start coverage 15 minutes early for the pregame talk.

The night games are totally different - I guess if you played the night game ALL season long you would get used to it, but I can see how it would be easy to lose focus.

Weren't the marquee games in the 3:30 slot the last couple of years?
